Karen Isailovic - Four years ago I wrote: "I feel better when I paint. Period." My sentiment has not changed one bit. I am motivated by this unquenchable thirst for learning, for change, for newness. Although change is often discomforting, I know the secret to my personal happiness is constant change. I do not do well sitting idle. Painting and creating are the tools I depend upon which guarantee my changing, evolving, and progressing as a human being. On the surface, I continue to be inspired mainly by color, which I take full advantage of with my palette. On the subsurface, I wish to convey truth and honesty in my work - through my interpretation of whatever the subject matter may be. These are vague terms appropriately describing intangibles. Discovering the essence of things is my passion - putting it on canvas is MY essence. ...

Hanne Lore Koehler - The unique contemporary style, a sort of impressionistic realism, of Canadian artist, author illustrator, Hanne Lore Koehler has developed naturally in her watercolors, oil and acrylic paintings. Choose from a wide range of subjects including action-packed sports art, energetic portraits, landscapes, still life, fantasy and children's book illustrations or commission a custom painting. "I have splashed powerful action sports on watercolor canvases for the Canadian Olympic Association and stroked a gentle brush to capture elusive moments of light and mood on oil canvases for private and corporate collectors. My subjects are as varied as my interests and I adjust my style to suit the mood of my subjects but the finished painting always exudes my love of life. I try always to remain true to my objective and motto: to satisfy the eye with form, the mind with purpose and the soul with imagination". ...

Dana Zivanovits - Dana Zivanovits was born in 1958 in Columbus, Ohio and received his art training from the Columbus College of Art and Design (1978 to 1982). After art school, he went abroad for a year and studied the art of the old masters in London, Paris, Madrid, Rome and Venice. Returning to his studio in Columbus to develop these influences into a new body of work, he then traveled to Mexico and studied the sculpture and painting of that country for an extended period. The unique and vivid colors of Palenque and Vera Cruz intensified his palette. After a period in Ohio, he then moved to Venice Beach, California where the brilliant light of the region reinforced his desire to capture effects of sunlight and atmosphere. Returning to Ohio in 1995, he has continued to paint themes deriving inspiration form sources such as world mythology, classic and B-grade cinema, literature and dreams. However his primary inspiration is direct observation from nature, versus an approach based in art theories or cultural critique. Dana has been widely represented by galleries and exhibition projects including Julie Rico and Mega Boom in Los Angeles, the Venice Art Detour, Around the Coyote Festival in Chicago ...

Maria Ines Lukacs - I was born in Brasil and I live in Sao Paulo. I am married and we have two children. Since I was a little girl, I was always fascinated with nature, all shades of green, its mood and its beauty. But I started painting in oil on canvas and only in 1980 when my landscapes were already very transparent, I moved to paper and watercolors. Watercolors was for me like a box of chocolates. I just fell in love with a block of paper one day and little by little I left my canvas and oils tubes aside, to follow my true love. It is quite intriguing because I was not a big fan of water and paper when I was at art school... but now, just watch me !!! Education: Fine Arts School "Curso de Belas Artes na Casa Sao Vicente de Paula"- 1967 - 1969. Michigan University - USA - Proficiency in English - 1974 "English Language" at "Faculdade de Filosofia Ciencias e Letras Oswaldo Cruz" - 1977. Graduation in Watercolor "Pos Graduacao em Artes Plasticas na Faculdade de Artes Plasticas Santa Marcelina" - Lato Sensu - 1996 - 1998. Since 1967 I have been attending and teaching courses and ...

Armineh Bakhtanians - I hold degrees in commercial art, design, and interior design from UCLA, Rio Hondo College and Mount. San Antonio college. Although my profession has been in the field of inerior design for many years, creating works of art in watercolor has been my passion. The world is full of colors, shapes, designs, and beauty, if we choose to see it. It keeps on moving to the rhythms of many sorts. As one observer of nature, and creator of art and beauty I am commited to telling stories in forms of shapes and images that have come to me through my herritage of centuries to the PRESENT MOMENT. My father was a great inspiration for me as a child, and led me to the wonderous world of art, and as an artist I am committed to the growth and change in my work just as it is innate in nature. Armineh...

Rich Williams - When we look at a piece of art work it has to form some kind of connection to the viewer. It must evoke a memory or stir the imagination or it will fail to cause the person to return to it and examine it further. By painting some of natures hidden treasures I hope to bring the viewer back to places or times that are stored in their memories. I started my painting in watercolor and spent many years improving my skill level but recently became dissatisfied with traditional representations. I determined that I must explore new mediums as well as different ways of expressing my vision in art. As a result I now am working with several water media products to produce works that go beyond the literal expression or painting and encourage the viewer to interpret the content and subject of the work. ...

Fritz Engelhardt - My gallery shows oil, pastel and watercolor paintings. I discover my motifs during hiking. First I,m painting pleinair. Back in the studio landscape paintings in oil, pastel and watercolors evolve based on sketches, photos, and memory. While a photographic rendering always emphasizes the moment, a situation or records an event, a painting is still within a tradition of art history that immediately transcends every motif and therefore makes it seem timeless and universally valid. It has more reality than a photo because a painting has more of the character of an object, because it's tangibly produced with materials. My landscapes always show only one excerpt from nature as it in fact corresponds to visible reality but not to the truth of our present time. The truth is different. By selecting the motif and therefore precisely what the artistic resolution of the details do not show, all landscapes are intuitive models of a lost truth and reality. The desire of human beings for a healthy and ecologically intact environment leads me also to the strangely ambivalent position of a late Romanticist who wants to paint something beautiful with impressionistic tools and being committed to modern humanity at the same ...
