Scott Brown - The world is filled with visual excitement. When I am receptive to that excitement, a work of art is born. Then it becomes a matter of fleshing it out on paper. If I am sucessful the viewer will feel that initial excitement I felt. In a sense, the artist is a reporter of feelings. Digital Collection. Recently I started creating digital artwork. Roderick Brown - Roderick (Rod) Brown was born in Western Australia. Rod spent his first 30 years in an arid and remote gold mining town. As a youngster he remembers the great freedom he enjoyed surrounded by the stark but vivid images of the mines and surrounding bush, which he regularly explored. Rod as a child watched his father paint in oils and sketch, in charcoal and ink, portraits of local identities. The early seeds to later pursue art were sown at this time. Rod has enjoyed living with his family in Australia, Europe and the USA. During this time he has visited over 40 countries around the world enriching his life and building on the foundations acquired in his hometown, which was a very multicultural society. Rod decided to explore his artistic leanings taking up oil painting while living in Sydney. At that time Rod was a member of the Castle Hill Art Society and The Hornsby Art Society. Rod took up watercolour painting in the early 1980's, which has been his preferred medium since. Rod has exhibited at many public shows particularly while living in Sydney and has over the years painted commissioned portraits. Rod has paintings in corporate and ...

Stephen Mead - In the early 1990's Stephen Mead's poems began appearing in such journals as Onionhead, Bellowing Ark, and Invert, but upon moving to Provincetown, Mass., Stephen decided to concentrate more on visual work. It was in the year 2000, after moving back to NY, that Stephen started seeking publication again for both his writing and his art combined. Since, then, thanks to the wonders of the World Wide Web, his work has appeared internationally both in cyberspace, hard copy, and physical Gallery Space. Often the writing has appeared along side his paintings, and at other times with the text superimposed. In 2004 Stephen began experimenting even more with these poetry/art hybrids creating a series of e books, including the award winning "We Are More Than Our Wounds". From there Stephen began experimenting with his art and poems as films, at first creating slideshows with captions, and then doing his own soundtracks and voice overdubs. These DVDs are available through Indieflix.com In 2006 Stephen put this technology to use releasing a CD of poems set to music "Safe & Other Love Poems" (CDBaby.com), as well as two print editions of his image/art hybrids, "Selected Works" and "Tree ...

Pol Ledent - I am a self-taught artist. I was born in Belgium o, 23rd October 1952. I started painting in 1995 . I took some drawing lessons in the art academy in Dinant. I try to paint the landscapes of the countryside where I am living : the southern part of Belgium. Firts I took part in many collective exhibitions . Than, I had personal exhibitions in Rochehaut (Galerie La Potele), in Dinant (Galerie L'impression), in Paris (Rive Gauche Galerie Artimus) in Brussels (Galerie G-Loft).In 2004, I had three exhibitions, again In Rochehaut, galerie La Potele in May. Then, in September Exhibition Libr'art in Libramont. In November, Galerie Impression in Dinant. What people like most in my paintings are the colours. My art doesn't speak to the intellect but to the soul and to the feelings. Talink the risk to seem old fashioned , I would say it is rather romantic. I wish you much pleasure looking at my paintings. Pol Ledent ...

Bessie Papazafiriou - Through my work I'm able to express reality in my own way. With a brush in hand suddenly horses can fly, the sky is ablaze, myths become reality and the world is transformed. To me, this is freedom. There is an unequaled sense of joy and satisfaction that comes from being able to express my vision and share it with others. I love it when a stranger views my work and feels a connection...suddenly we're no longer strangers. A new line of communication is open, one that transcends language....

Deborah Wilson - ARTIST STATEMENT - DEBORAH WILSON Ii?1/2m a native of Missouri, but, my husband and I have taken many opportunities to experience other areas of the US and our neighboring countries. So, my artwork is influenced by all of those cultures and environments which we have spent time in. This includes cross-country camping and hiking trips, which dip into Canada or Mexico, along with various missions trips, working vacations and temporary residences. We have gone on working vacations for extended time periods in USVI (St. John) and Yellowstone National Park. And, my husband and I were dual residents of Missouri and Hawaii for about 5 or 6 years. So, as you can imagine, there is great diversity of subject matter and I need several more lifetimes to paint everything that is wanting to be painted! Some paintings have been done in our camper, some in a makeshift studio in the closet, on the floor or on the dining room table. Here in Missouri, I have a studio separate from our house on our land, just outside of Springfield. Who we are and whatever is in our hearts tends to come out in our artwork. So, you will find a lot ...

Maryann Burton - Find more of my work at MaryannBurton.com Creating a painting is an adventure that begins with how I perceive the world around me. Inspiration, many times, comes from the play of light, how it creates and dissipates color, and whether it is absorbed or reflected. It is a challenge to my senses and technical skills, expressing these effects on paper. The flow, spontaneity, and feel of painting with watercolor thrills me. The unpredictability of the medium is part of the fun. Whether evoking a feeling or a memory, bringing someone a sense of peace or joy, or reminding them of a familiar time or place, I like to make an emotional connection through my artwork. ...

Suzanne Painter - I am a self-taught artist, learning portraiture from my mother at a young age. I am still in favor of charcoal when drawing portraits because of the ease of application, and the intensity of values. Charcoal gives me depth that pencils lack. As I progressed in my exploration of color, I experimented with oils, acrylics, and watercolor. Although I love the fresh, crispness of watercolor, I have yet to master the medium. Acrylics are wonderful for coverage, and intense color. They dry quickly, and when that's needed, I love acrylics. But I truly love oil paints. I love the smell, the feel, and the beautiful look that oil paints produce. I love the way I can blend and smear the paint to produce the desired atmosphere or emotion within the painting. My favorite colors are French Ultramarine Blue, Cadmium Red and Yellow, Brown Madder, Indian Red and Yellow, and Burnt/Raw Sienna and Umber. I mix 1 part to 3 parts Stand Oil to Linseed Oil for my painting medium. I live in the central valley of California, and enjoy traveling throughout the western states for inspiration. I maintain my own website as well as websites for other...

Nicole Pereira - NICOLE PEREIRA Nicole Pereira is a young rising artist who started producing artwork at the young age of 4. Nicole noticed that she had a gift for art when her artwork was selected in her local public school and community art competitions. The local press also started raving about Nicoles work. With encouragement from her family and friends, Nicole now devotes all of her free time to paint abstract portraits that express her feelings and emotions. Originally, she started drawing realistic portraits of individuals and celebrities, but felt that she wanted to add more. By careful reinterpretation of the portrait, the use of broad brushstrokes and vivid colors, Nicole conveys her thoughts, feelings and emotion to the canvas to create unusual artwork. Nicole is just beginning to get recognition in the art world as a gifted and unique artist and her potential is unlimited....

Venczak Marianna - I'm a graphic artist, illustrator and painter since 1993. Since then, I have been a Board of Presidency of the "National association of Lovers of Art". My paintings are often a mix of reality and fantasy - emotional reflections of the world surronding us: sparkles of moments I captured and embraced....

Armineh Bakhtanians - I hold degrees in commercial art, design, and interior design from UCLA, Rio Hondo College and Mount. San Antonio college. Although my profession has been in the field of inerior design for many years, creating works of art in watercolor has been my passion. The world is full of colors, shapes, designs, and beauty, if we choose to see it. It keeps on moving to the rhythms of many sorts. As one observer of nature, and creator of art and beauty I am commited to telling stories in forms of shapes and images that have come to me through my herritage of centuries to the PRESENT MOMENT. My father was a great inspiration for me as a child, and led me to the wonderous world of art, and as an artist I am committed to the growth and change in my work just as it is innate in nature.
