Stephen Mead - In the early 1990's Stephen Mead's poems began appearing in such journals as Onionhead, Bellowing Ark, and Invert, but upon moving to Provincetown, Mass., Stephen decided to concentrate more on visual work. It was in the year 2000, after moving back to NY, that Stephen started seeking publication again for both his writing and his art combined. Since, then, thanks to the wonders of the World Wide Web, his work has appeared internationally both in cyberspace, hard copy, and physical Gallery Space. Often the writing has appeared along side his paintings, and at other times with the text superimposed. In 2004 Stephen began experimenting even more with these poetry/art hybrids creating a series of e books, including the award winning "We Are More Than Our Wounds". From there Stephen began experimenting with his art and poems as films, at first creating slideshows with captions, and then doing his own soundtracks and voice overdubs. These DVDs are available through Indieflix.com In 2006 Stephen put this technology to use releasing a CD of poems set to music "Safe & Other Love Poems" (CDBaby.com), as well as two print editions of his image/art hybrids, "Selected Works" and "Tree ...

Luise Andersen - Luise'Mignon' Andersen Luise'Mignon' Andersen has only recently begun to reveal her lifes work. Soon after her debut she exploded onto the mainstream art world. Her breathtaking pieces have captured international interest. The stories Luise'Mignon' is telling through her truly deep, layered works seem to decipher the past and foretell the future, perhaps sharing her window to other dimensions and a seventh sense. Her detailed acrylic'Mignon' series speaks to the beholder. They inspire raw emotion and ignite ones imagination. The indescribable nature of the "Duree De Ma Vie" in particular has a growing portion of the art community considering it the conception of an entirely new style. Eve Co - I began painting and drawing in 1987 and have not stopped. I have a wide range from, landscapes, still-lifes, Hubble art galaxies nebulas, abstracts, florals, architectural art and so much more. I draw every day and paint as much as I can afford. I paint more watercolors than acrylic and oil canvas art. I would prefer more canvas art, but I make do with what I have. I try to express myself in artwork as well as with words. I paint landscapes, the glorious colors of nature, water, the ever expressive sky and more, primarily with watercolors on paper. These paintings are usually thought out and planned because they represent nature as I see nature. I paint still-lifes of everyday objects. To teach me about one particular color, shading and or painting glass. I think of still-lifes as a learning process that literally has me pulling my hair out in frustration, but I still paint through how they make me feel... I am fascinated with Hubble Space Technology so, I paint galaxies and nebulas on canvas with acrylic paints. I have sold many of these paintings and I must admit they are some of my favorite subjects...

Bessie Papazafiriou - Through my work I'm able to express reality in my own way. With a brush in hand suddenly horses can fly, the sky is ablaze, myths become reality and the world is transformed. To me, this is freedom. There is an unequaled sense of joy and satisfaction that comes from being able to express my vision and share it with others. I love it when a stranger views my work and feels a connection...suddenly we're no longer strangers. A new line of communication is open, one that transcends language....

Philip Hallawell - I work in various media: oil, watercolor, dry pastels, pen and ink and mixed media. My work is a result of a fragmented view of the world, which gives it a surreal quality. However, my process is not surreal, because I start with a definite theme that I wish to investigate. My main area of interest is people and the human form and I am constantly investigating the physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual aspects of Man. Over the years I have developed various series, which I revisit periodocally, investigating different aspects. In purely visual terms, what fascinates me is light and form and how I can use diverse visual elements in a complementary way, opposing, for instance, line and form, or rough and smooth textures. The use of diferent materials to achieve diverse expressions, either alone or as mixed media, along with alternating between a graphic representation and a painterly one, or mixing the two, is a very important aspect of the way I materialize my thinking into images. Equally important is the transition from very realistic images to a totally abstract means of expression and alternating between control and expressiveness....

Deborah Wilson - ARTIST STATEMENT - DEBORAH WILSON Ii?1/2m a native of Missouri, but, my husband and I have taken many opportunities to experience other areas of the US and our neighboring countries. So, my artwork is influenced by all of those cultures and environments which we have spent time in. This includes cross-country camping and hiking trips, which dip into Canada or Mexico, along with various missions trips, working vacations and temporary residences. We have gone on working vacations for extended time periods in USVI (St. John) and Yellowstone National Park. And, my husband and I were dual residents of Missouri and Hawaii for about 5 or 6 years. So, as you can imagine, there is great diversity of subject matter and I need several more lifetimes to paint everything that is wanting to be painted! Some paintings have been done in our camper, some in a makeshift studio in the closet, on the floor or on the dining room table. Here in Missouri, I have a studio separate from our house on our land, just outside of Springfield. Who we are and whatever is in our hearts tends to come out in our artwork. So, you will find a lot ...

Armineh Bakhtanians - I hold degrees in commercial art, design, and interior design from UCLA, Rio Hondo College and Mount. San Antonio college. Although my profession has been in the field of inerior design for many years, creating works of art in watercolor has been my passion. The world is full of colors, shapes, designs, and beauty, if we choose to see it. It keeps on moving to the rhythms of many sorts. As one observer of nature, and creator of art and beauty I am commited to telling stories in forms of shapes and images that have come to me through my herritage of centuries to the PRESENT MOMENT. My father was a great inspiration for me as a child, and led me to the wonderous world of art, and as an artist I am committed to the growth and change in my work just as it is innate in nature. Randy Sprout - I grew up in a small town in Northern Iowa, played football, coached the swimming team, and graduated from the University of Iowa with a BA in printmaking studying under Mauricio Lasansky. I then went into the Army and ended up pulling 13 months in Korea on the DMZ. Coming out of Korea I entered UCLA and earned a MA and MFA in printmaking while studying under Jan Stussy and Stanton Mac-Donald Wright. The next year after the funds dried up on my Fulbright Award to Portugal, because of the Angola War, I was lucky to get hired by USC where I taught printmaking as a junior faculty member. I also replaced professors at UCLA when they went on sabaticals, and taught one year at Pierce College. In 1977 I tried Real Estate, you know just for the summer, but by fall I had purchased Century 21 Hollywood Inc. and had a new vocation going. Now 31 years into real estate, I'm coming full circle and starting to paint little quick studies 9X12. I'm using just 1/2 inch brushes and 5 colors. I intentionally limit my time to 2 hours after which I stop and throw ...

Thinn Thinn - I like to draw people on the street . Especially I love to draw women and kids. I want to share story of people on the street and my country culture. I used to use different kinds of media. I mostly used watercolor and pen. ...

Durre Waseem - Durre Waseem of Corona, a native of Pakistan, has a Master of Fine Arts degree from Punjab University and taught for 10 years at various colleges in Pakistan. Durre moved to the United States in 2001 and became a full time painter. She paints portraits and plein air in oils, pastels, watercolor, ink, and acrylics and captures the local colour of both the people and the place of wherever she may be. Her bold, colorful brushwork and loose impressionistic style effectively capture the energy and feeling of her subject and establishes a direct line of communication with the viewer. Her inspiration is usually an ordinary object, how its identity is defined by its environment, and how it becomes apart of its surroundings. Durre has participated in many national and international exhibitions both in Pakistan and the U.S. ...

Maryann Burton - Find more of my work at MaryannBurton.com Creating a painting is an adventure that begins with how I perceive the world around me. Inspiration, many times, comes from the play of light, how it creates and dissipates color, and whether it is absorbed or reflected. It is a challenge to my senses and technical skills, expressing these effects on paper. The flow, spontaneity, and feel of painting with watercolor thrills me. The unpredictability of the medium is part of the fun. Whether evoking a feeling or a memory, bringing someone a sense of peace or joy, or reminding them of a familiar time or place, I like to make an emotional connection through my artwork. ...
