  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Claudia Beldent - "Every job is a self-portrait of the person who did it. Autograph your work with quality" Born in Paris, France, Claudia Beldent grew up in a highly artistic and business oriented environment surrounded by painters, award-winning designers, as well as three generations of French Chefs. She emigrated to Montreal, Canada in the 60's, had an education focused on Language and Arts, studied in Business Administration leading her to join the family furniture manufacture and interior design company. Relocated in Miami and energized by its "shining tropical colors", Claudia took two years of extensive courses in ceramic technique before embarking on an artistic career in the mid 90's. Influenced by French masters such as Picasso, Matisse and Leger, she began to paint on "clay canvases". Her ceramics, vibrant in colors, animated in themes and intricate in details, are the result of the challenge of mastering ceramic painting with the complex skill of firing ceramics. The shape of a vase, the depth of a fired paint, the feeling and shine of a glaze are the reasons that moved the artist towards the ceramic world to channel her love for Art. Her expertise and constant drive for new venture...

Michael Arnold - Art for me is a creative release, therefore I have no boundaries in my work. I work on what moves me spiritually, visually and creatively. I enjoy many different styles including impressionism, pop art, abstract expressionism, naturalism, post-impressionism, art deco and contemporary. All of these styles influence my work, but do not define my style. I primarily work in acrylics, but have produced works in pastels, graphite, charcoal colored pencils and ink. Elizabeth Bogard - My art is about life. I Paint Life When Life Is Art, expressing what I see around me aEUR" people, places, moments in time - subjects I connect with on some level aEUR" intellectual, spiritual, or emotional. I find it better to let the subject come to me rather than deliberately seeking it. I believe that an artist must experiment in order to grow. Lately I am creating stylish collages using torn and cut papers from vintage and antique sheet music. As Pablo Picasso said, I begin with an idea and then it becomes something else. When this happens to me, the results are exciting. E. K. Bogard ...

Tzipi Biran - I try to express the feminine experience as a complete individual that is constantly engaged in fulfilling her independence and femininity. Parallel to this, I emphasize the potential of a harmonious and holistic connection within a nourishing, supporting and creative relationship between a couple, a promoting and protective partnership within a spiritual and physical connection. The figures in my works are like the dance of life in which the steps of one are adjacent, connecting, opposing, and supporting to that of others, creating a changing and constant movement. ...

Francois Falet - My pictures of the beginning describe mainly the dayly life in Montreal I have sketched during my seven years in Quebec. After having shown different aspects of the american society, I have created my own pictural language to represent the world I am living in. ...

Barry Boobis - Musical Visions is a body of work devoted to all themes of Music. These themes traverse the worlds of jazz, dance, rock, nature, spirit, and beyond. These musical themes are explored in the universes of realism and abstract, often combining both at a level of Spirit. Having practiced Zen meditation I see all mediums of art as One, which is derived from the ancient Buddhist scriptures. My Greatgrandfather wrote the "Hatikvah," national anthem of Israel, and my father was a jazz piano player, as well as a commercial artist, so the genetic splicing is readily obvious. The heritage of music, as well as art and spirit informs the work, and I offer it as a form of celebration of heightened sensibility. Joyousness, rapture, and expression, not just existence! As artist- in- residence at the Bluenote jazz club in NYC, and a participant in the Newport Jazz Festival and the Saratoga Jazz Festival for many years, I have had the great opportunity to bring this work to lovers of music as well as art throughout the Eastern Seabord of the USA. I now welcome the opportunity to bring it to the world- at- large through absolutearts.com. Please celebrate with me! ...

Kimmie Hamm - Everywhere you dream to go can become a part of you and everywhere you have been is a part of you. I am an explorer and optimist at heart, so when I set out to create something one word always comes to mind: Possibilities I feel that through art I can explore the visions in my mind, everything from a small flower or blade of grass to distant worlds filled with whimsy and thoughts of what ifaEUR|aEUR|. Culturally I have two aspects that influence me one being my Native American ancestry and the other my German immigrant ancestry. I am deeply rooted in the beauty and wonderment of nature. My wise grandmother told me if you have strong roots your sprit can fly anywhere and still return home. That saying has always stuck with me and in many ways sparked my imagination. The explorer in me must come from my immigrant ancestry. My great grandfatheraEURtms family traveled to America on a steam ship in 1874. I can imagine them traveling for what must have seemed like an eternity. I often contemplate what they must have been thinking, and try to express the excitement of the unknown and the anticipation ...

Patrick Lynch - Inspired by the English Pre-Raphaelites and the writings of late Victorian Kentucky poets Madison J. Cawein and Robert Burns Wilson, my paintings are of the eternal human quest for love set in a lost Gothic world inhabited primarily by women who are caught in the contradictions of their dreams and how they have found their world to actually be. Many of the inhabitants are haunted, but not by supernatural forces. When ghosts appear, they are not always the spirits of lost loved ones, more often, they are the ghosts of an idea or dream-for example, the idea that one can find a lifelong and true love or of that one person who simply cannot be forgotten. The women who spread their wings are not angels in the expected sense; their wings are a manifestation of the forces that shape their lives. Men are sometimes present in my images, often in an embrace of acceptance and partnership as they share the immutable longing for love. At other times, men are found at that pivotal moment of undesired separation or are reaching out to comfort those in pain. But not every moment is one of tragic endings. There are moments ...

Christine Dumbsky - "Paintings of women" In the best cases they are portrayals of women, by women. However, the artist, Christine Dumbsky from Sommerach, divests this notion of its'perceived pre-set programme that seems often to delve into the realms of Womens Liberation; at least at first sight. Christine Dumbsky's women appear to project the image of wanting to share their world with those outside. In fact, they provoke the viewer to connect with them through the painting by seeming to invite the viewer to touch the sculptural elements included. She does not denegrate her women to objects of male fantasy, and she does not support sexual voyeurism. Because of this, her women retain their secrets but also seem willing and able to share those secrets for the same reason. These are women with yearnings and illusions that wish to be understood. That the artist has a dreamy, romantic streak is not only a pre-requisite for her work, it is also what gives it it`s special charm. Wolf-Dietrich Weissbach (Journalist) ...

Ken Hillberry - In art and in life, dynamics of balance, integrity and tolerant interaction of all elements or participants ought to be see, experienced and maintained. At the same time, the challenge of affecting this balance is creatively encountering all changes and adapt accordingly. For some, the destination or pre-determined outcomes are sought more often than not. Then there are some who savor the journey, thus witnessing and enjoying developments along the way. I fall into the latter category. It's like watching the film develop in a darkroom. the image takes form a little at a time right before my eyes. The creative process, for me, is void of pressure and timeless. The ability and practice and discipline are central in my approach. My creative intent is to engage a viewer in thought and emotion, as well as, with their eyes. Using imagination, retrospect or model, my range of composition can be conceptual, perhaps impressionistic or abstract in application, but always developed to evoke an awareness and appreciation for the relative conditions in life experience and art form as I incisively or playfully interpret my experiences along the way. ...
