  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Mert Ulcay - Mert Ulcay was born in Istanbul, Turkey in 1974. After studying to obtain a Bachelor of Economics in Istanbul, he moved to Italy and successfully completed a Masters Degree in International Economics and Management in Milan. He started his painting studies in 1996 with Mehmet Guleryuz (one of Turkey's leading contemporary painters) at his Bilsak Atelier in Istanbul. He moved Sevinc Altan in 2000, who was a former assistant to Mehmet Guleryuz, opening two exhibitions with her atelier. His works were chosen by the Cagdas Sanat Committee in 2001, for an exhibition with other "up and coming artists" at the Contemporary Art Center in Istanbul. In 2003, he participated in the "International Art Action for Peace" exhibition, with several leading painters in Turkey and moved to Stuttgart, Germany, where he now lives and works, painting from his own atelier. Mert Ulcay's paintings can be described as being emotional, somewhat introvert and very figurative. Always being interested in different expressions of people and of hidden feelings shown from behind "the mask". MERT ULCAY- www.mertulcay.com ...

Lubov Meshulam Lemkovitch - Lubov Meshulam Lemkovich I am primarily a portrait painter. Whilst I experiment with different genres both abstract and realistic, my favorite genre has to be the art of portraiture. I am fascinated by life drawing; I love the people that I depict and I see in each of them a unique personality and beauty that is found in every man and every woman ... I communicate with the sitter and in the process of drawing I understand more and more about them; so much so that I can really relate on an individual basis to everyone I draw In the process of portrait painting there is a lot of psychology ... ultimately I believe the final result is a mutual understanding, rewarding to both parties ...

Seidai Tamura - I dedicate my life to realism, a representational rendition in oil. I am specialized in female nude works. Recently, Ive diverged into an erotic genre along with traditional, academic nudes. Due to controversial contents, I am not able to show my erotic pieces. Please message me, if you are interested to see my erotic works. They sell fast among collectors, but some are still available for purchase. Seidai Tamura - Ana Castro Feijoo - My work is essentially a visual development of the relationnships between shapes, colors, line and emotion, with in speecific field, sometimes the symbols reveal themselves spontaneously, my chalenge in their balancein space. It is halfway between abstraction and figuration. I donA't analyze, I donA't coneptualize, rather I build and destroy until I unravel a portrait of the moment. It is my language to express mmy interior, difficult with words. In the paintings I paint layer upon layer, letting it happen and flo, in the engraving especially llately in the monocopie, once the inks have been disseminated I am intereested in exploring the accident that occurs when literally exploding them under the pressure of the press, moment by moment, until the appropriate ones are captured on papeer or canvas. I am a multifaceted artist. I am attracted to the challenges of differrent disciplines. It is an evolution in time, while the work is being created, to the point that I see an abstract representation of something that I had not seen before and I allow the work to have its own presence....

Caren Keyser - My expressionist paintings are done using an intuitive process. I begin with the paint and then allow the paint and my subconscious to lead me to the subject matter. Exciting interactions between colors evolve from brushwork, pouring, glazing, spraying and other techniques. I strive to show the essence of the subject rather than paint an overly realistic image. I never know what I will find next in my work. I hope it will be dramatic and emotional. Note that the paintings are not framed. ------------------------------------- I began painting professionally in 1977 after studying art at Florida Atlantic University. There I explored the many styles and techniques available to the acrylic painter. My first photo-realism style piece was created while attending FAU. I knew from that moment that realistic nature scenes would be my style of choice. This remained my theme and style until after 2005. As time has passed my work has changed and become more creative in its processes. Color is still the dominant feature in my work. As my focus has shifted toward expressionism I stored my realism pieces. The originals of many of them are still available for purchase and are included in my inventory here at ...

Pamela Flynn - My work has always been grounded in issues from living the day to day. I see the visual world as a mirror of human priorities and in much of my work I use digital images from self taken photographs as a starting point. My work is process intense and is meant to initiate an examination of the inherent responsibility that goes with living. My work explores many different issues. Among which are: the use of technology to generate the work, the ability of art to quietly evoke visual memories, the juxtaposition of the uncontrolled and the controlled in living, the blurring of the boundaries between the serious and the trite, the questionable truth of the photo image. ...

Andrea Benetti - Manifesto of Neo Cave Art was presented by Andrea Benetti at the 53rd Venice Biennale in the Natura e sogni aEURoeNature and DreamsaEUR pavilion in the Ca Foscari University, San Giobbe, Cannaregio, Venice, Italy MANIFESTO DELLARTE NEORUPESTRE Manifesto of Neo Cave Painting by Andrea Benetti Since the dawn of humanity, well before the invention of written language, Man felt the need to communicate, to leave some trace of his passage through this world. This he accomplished through painting. Early Man had to deal with the sun, the earth, the waters and the sky every dayaEUR| had to find a way to find his place in the balance of Nature. And even when Nature was unthreatening, he was in awe of Her, treating Her with the respect due a Deity, in full awareness of his own human limitations. Contemporary Man has denied those limits and trampled that respect, placing himself at the center of the universe and giving his own selfish needs absolute priority. In doing so, he has stupidly destroyed the enchantment and desecrated the sanctity of Life and Nature. So letaEURtms take a step backward. LetaEURtms start over, with the proper respect for Nature and for human ...

Norbert Szuk - My artwork can be divided into periods by idea, emotion and impression. I am proud that the pulsating colours of my pictures have been accepted by Playboy Magazine in Hungary, as well as by the world-famous electronic record company, Some Bizarre Studios in London, for whom I occasionally design CD covers. I have achieved success in the field of illustration and my own artistic universe in which I blend different trends. Apart from my own style, I also paint Japanese manga pictures where I mix European art forms with Far-Eastern images like wayang, so that my artistic style might be called international. My manga and wayang figures express emotions and passion, animated by various ideas. My heart and emotions are European, my ideas are nurtured by Spanish surrealism, my images promote the harmony of the Far-Eastern world. I always maintain a broad perspective. As well as painting, I have worked in international festival management in Hungary and abroad. I deal with graffiti, airbrush, ice, sand, giant painting and various other kinds of installations, art camps, designs, illustrations and exhibition organizing. I have created 120 minor and major art programmes and movements. From art festival management, I am ...
