Eduardo Diaz - Statement My name is Eduardo DIaz and Iim a Mexican artist residing in the Bay Area since 2001. In my work I express different elements of Mexican culture, while emphasizing its Native American heritage. I incorporate native themes and images, both extant and prehispanic, into my works and combine them with personal feelings, experiences or fears. Although cultural elements are the essence of my art, through them I also like to express political and social opinions. As a Mexican, I feel in touch with the problems at the Mexican-American border, as well as with the issues facing Mexican immigrants. I also like to express the tension between the indigenous and the industrialized worlds, and to analyze the different elements that make up Mexican identity, especially when confronted with life in a different country. My favorite medium is oil painting. I use vivid and deep colors, with which I reflect the light of the Mexican sun. Some of my compositions are figurative, and oscillate between realistic scenes and more elaborated images, with affinity to surrealism. John Fields - Unfortunately most people cannot participate in my "Art". Not because they don't get to see the "end result", but because they miss the actual process of creating the work.... the end result is merely something nice to look at - or not. As paint moves from tube or jar to palette to brush to canvas, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Stones blare in my ears. Something jumps onto the canvas from my hands and at that moment something artistic is happening. As soon as I walk away from my work, the art stops..... When a painting is finished(?)so am I....until the brush and music start again. Enjoy my "end-products"... if you like. ...

Stephanie Hayden - My work varies in style, i try to capture moments of my life on different canvases, from watercolours, acrylics, to montages, sculpture and my photography. Much of my work is dark & disturbing and i can attribute it to the fact that until recently i was registered blind, legally, having been born with dislocated lenses. The more vibrant & colourful works are from my later period after i had surgery to implant interocular lenses, thus i now see the world in a totally different way. This can be seen across my portfolio....

Manolis Tsantakis - The subject "Woman and Nature" which is the title of my photographs, It becomes an endless source of inspiration. Nature is perfect but also so fickle. The lighting and weather interchanges during a day could be unbelievable. Nature some times has a melancholic mood, but it could also elevate your senses. It offers tranquility and happiness, but also fear and insecurity. Woman, as a female gender by nature, matches perfectly with Nature, and it create within me, exactly the same feelings. It is a constant challenge for me, to tie together in perfect harmony these two live elements and create images of dreams and fantasy. ...
Ward George - Ward George is a contemporary representational artist interested primarily in the female nude. Having made off with his mother's paint box at the age of nine, Mr. George received his training privately and, formally, at the University of Wisconsin. Although deeply influenced by modern art and its philosophies, he soon embarked on a deeper study of the whole of Western Art. As a result, he has built a foundation drawing from the depth of western tradition as well as more contemporary sources. Mr. George has chosen the nude as an expressive vehicle for three reasons: * first, it is the foundation of Western Art; * second, it is an art form in and of itself; * third, and most importantly, because of his natural sympathies for the human figure and the enduring source of challenges and opportunities it presents. Believing that an artist must bring intellect, emotion and technique to his work, he has taken what he considers of greatest aesthetic value from artists as varied as Rembrandt and Picasso, de Kooning and Ingres, Rodin and Welliver, Matisse, Wyeth, Rubens and Pearlstein. Rodolfo Chavarriaga - Rodolfo Chavarriaga Biographical Sketch Rodolfo Chavarriaga was born in Bogota, Colombia, S.A. in 1951 He lived in Bogota until the age of six, moved to Paris for a period of one year, and then returned to Bogota. Influenced by his grandfather, an impresario and filmmaker, as a young man Chavarriaga showed an interest in sculpture, film, dance, theatre and music. His surrounding changed again a year after returning to Bogota when his family moved to Medellin, Colombia. Returning to Bogota one year later, he attended several different schools between the ages of 8 and 13. Was later enrolled at the boarding school Colegio Sugamuxi in Sogamoso, Boyaca. Chavarriaga's world changed once again the summer of 1966. Fourteen at the time, his whole family migrated to Miami, Florida. Chavarriaga recognized his love for art early on. With an aptitude for the manual and visual arts, he started to realize his calling and inclination during his youth. He began to display talent in this area while living in Paris as a child.
