Working as an abstract expressionist artist, I believe that the process of creating is much like the flow of life. For me the first mark, undercoating or brushstroke in a painting is often the hardest. From these first beginnings a dialogue is opened up in which I as the artist am compelled to find and follow the flow of the painting in a highly intuitive manner. Color and movement play a major role in my work, as do line and texture. There is much experimentation, exploring, discoveries of new avenues of expression and at best a child like playfulness. When all the elements come together in unison, the completion of the painting emerges bringing with it a quality of expression that has a life of it's own and is unique.
