Artist Statement -

I have been painting in Acrylic, Indian ink, and water color for 5 years. My entire life I have showed a passion for art, as a child you could always find me creating something new. I have taken 7 years of art classes including painting, drawing, sculpture and collage. All through my high school years, I was never interested much in any other subjects but art; in every class I would be seen doing doodles or dreaming of graduating and becoming a artist in the magnificent foothills. I started Country strong Art just in 2014 after I graduated from Holy Trinity Academy. During this past year I’ve spent many, many hours painting plenty of landscapes, mostly sunsets, and sunrises as the sky and landscapes is my passion to paint.T his whole past year has been focused on art, I’ve been in the sheep river library and held my own reception and started my own page on face book which has all my pieces. I’m currently a member at the sheep Creek Art council, and have been taking classes there. I paint to capture the beauty and mystery of the nature around me. When I look outside at the magnificent view, I can’t help but want to keep that moment forever and put it on an empty canvas to share with the world and inspire others that viewing my art to go outside and be part of the landscape and observe the beauty I love so much. I’d have to say Art, is my absolute passion there’s nothing better than capturing something unexplainably beautiful and painting it the way it looks to me. Art can make any dull wall, boring room, or any empty house a very fascinating, stunning place. I use a variety of media for my art. My landscapes, sunrises and sunsets are painted mostly in mixed media, such as: Acrylic, watercolor, Indian ink and bark. Many find my art very colorful and bring a sense of happiness and admiration. I take photos of landscapes around the Foothills or use photos from landscapes from around the world to paint from. My final piece of art will NEVER look like the original photo I always make it my own, the way I see it or change it so it looks new. I add the technique impasto to many of my landscapes to add an interesting look and texture. I also use bark as a texture for trees or roofs... etc. to bring the painting to life. Sometimes I use a shiny glaze to some of my bright skies and water to reflect the light shining on the painting like the original landscape would look on a sunny day. My theme for my art is Country strong art which means, I paint the beauty and peacefulness one can only find in the country side and not in the city where you are distracted by many clambering sounds of cars. It’s the breathtaking skies in a quiet field or rambunctious forest that capture my attention. The outdoors is an art itself, so much detail in a tree, leaf, mountain or sky; I admire every aspect and detail of it. My art is full of color, texture and life. I paint not so much realistically, I paint more of what I feel about the landscape when I see a landscape. I don’t think my art falls under any art category. I don’t think any art does because every artist and their art is unique and different just like each person is unique and different in their own way. I paint freely in my own way and I create something different each time with my own new and old techniques.
