Artwork Description:
In the assemblage on board, Epa Mask Evolution, electrical mechanical rubber fan belts, electric boiling rings, electric phone chargers, remote control, phone case, shaving sticks, tin and plastic covers case as well as plastic stick were creatively arranged and glued on board. Acrylic colours were aesthetically added to create a beautiful abstract composition. Among the Ekiti-Yoruba, traditional Epa masks are carved in wood to document the life and profession of the person it was commissioned to commemorate. Thus, my creatively expressed Epa mask of many coloured electrical items was symbolically representing an electronic merchant, that was why electrical materials were displayed on the superstructure of the headdress.
