Best when viewed large. The Observatory , a land far far away, a planet where emotions are prized by the inhabitants, but always focused on the creation of great public artwork. Here we see the Road to Nowhere landscape art, the carved Thumb Up sculpture, and the partially hidden Joy at left, carved directly from the cliffs local deep orange quartzite-like mineral. The larger than life Fencepost at right marks a hidden path through the forest that leads to the seashore. On some planets the locals do not like Gods nature to be defiled by some creations of indigenous life forms, such as wind turbines, while others such as smoke stacks appear to be OK. Here on Observatory, the fossil fuels are all gone, the locals have made the switch to renewables long ago, and the sky is now a clear blue. The grid is shared with and paid for by all and the dominant life form has learned to get along with all its members and to become a good steward of the planet as a whole. Nice dream, ehObservatory is colored pencil on acid free 90 lb cold press watercolor paper. It is 10 x 7 in size.
