This hot water saturated with silica and iron oxide and, upon cooling, beautiful layers formed of agate. These layers of agate often have the appearance of Opal or pearl. This effect is known as the effect of Schiller. The color produced by Fire Agate is created by very thin layers of glass to reflect light in a special way to make the colorful effect.
