Artwork Description:   Left panel - "Kings and Princes" Centre panel - "Backra Pickney" Right panel - "Ape to Zebra" The trilogy is comprised of three sections titled as above. "Kings and Princes" refers to the historical fact that an african prince was sold into slavery and brought to the new world. Maybe there was more than one we don't know. However it speaks to the fact that Africans were not the "uncivilized" people Europeans took them for when thye first landed in Africa. "Backra Pickney" is a term for Africans after they were sold into slavery. "Ape - Zebra" is a reference to the racial slurs that are used to describe black people in the new world today.
