This painting was created in 2003 as a part of the series of 10 paintings when I decided to refresh all my skills and techniques with different styles. For New Day I used some unusual colors to produce more dept and structure. The painting is very unique, there is very little to work with, just a few branches, but it has a lot of meaning. Also, if you noticed the water is not really blue, there are a lot of green, purple, white, and other colors that are not normally associated with water, yet you know it is. In some focal points the oil paint on the leafs of the branches is as much as 1/2 inches above the surface of the canvas. The painting is so unique, it plays with the background, if you hang it on the white wall it looks different, then if you hang it on the green, yellow, blue or any other color wall (like any other painting does), but this one looks great with all the background, since it has almost all the colors in it, and it fits them all. Wow!
This is one of my favorite paintings; it really reflects my emotions and mood. I create being just about 10 inches away from the canvas, and when I create I use a lot of high quality paint, so in some points the paint is about 1,5-2 inches from the canvas. To really appreciate it, and see that I see just move away from your computer and look at it at about 3 -4 feet, see it now?... That is it; this is what it looks like in real life...
This Art is created using Oil on Canvas.
