One can only imagine their conversations, the communion, that rare unity between Daisy and the “pioneer” of colorful abstract art back in Munich during the late 1890s. They would slowly walk together, dog and the still-struggling Wassily Kandinsky, who would use these relaxful strolls to reflect, and to allow his special imagination to soar. A host of other artists through time—Warhol, Georgia O’Keefe, Picasso, Frida Kahlo, and Klimt—have all found inspiring companionship in their pets. Amid this bonding, there is harmony, a singular purity that allows the artist to stand under a captivating lunar eclipse, to essentially ignore its alchemy, and to discover her own illumination, strength and imagination. She’s a bit weary, having already traveled to other dimensionswith a dogis always tiring. He too must be emotionally and spirituaally nourished. But her loyal bulldog companion has already taken a determined leap, crossing into another sphere of creativity, and so she too must jump over barriers. Freedom demands that. The immutable spirit of Kandinsky demands that. It must still be a thoughtful, well-executed leap. Not just a purely impulsive one. Dog has shown the way, bounding into all sorts of new atmospheres. new fertile terrains. Yet his lady in red must collect her thoughts, reimagine her perceptions to take them well past any confining barriers, and well beyond any recognizable universes.
