Artwork Description:
Wind composition №55
I live in a region where the wind — strong, gusty, and sometimes hurricane — is an unchanging constant of the reality around me. Here the expression the wind blows down is quite an ordinary reality. It blows constantly, cool in summer and cooling in the forty-degree heat, icy and piercing in winter. But we, the residents of the city are so used to it that we don t pay any attention to the wind. That s why the girl in the picture is not afraid of the wind at all, standing tall, full of confidence in her abilities, and looking forward. And in her yellow hair you can see the bright sun that is about to peek out from behind the windy clouds.
Linen canvas, gesso and acrylic paints. Coated with an archival-quality protective satin varnish. Mounted on a stretcher frame.
Painted with plastic cards and palette knife.
