Artwork Description:

Earth is a special one for me. I am very connected with this painting. Her arm represents the connection to the earth with her body leaning into it. I am an earth sign and I find my strength from the earth as well. Naturally green represents this northern element which also reminded me of the color of the heart chakra. In honor of this I highlighted her breast in a brighter green with her hair cradling it. All this green and connection to the earth brought out my Irish roots and gave the background a bit of celtic knot look with the criss cross pattern. When I was finished it was around the holiday Imbolic so during a cerimony I dedicated this painting to the Goddess Bridgit in honor of her celtic roots and connection to the earth.
