Artwork Description:

This is a painting of Pete Seeger's banjo. 'This Machine' is a nod to both Pete and Woody Guthrie. The pink rose represents my grandmother. There are 4 of them to represent my immediate family; myself, my sister, my mother and father. They are connected by vines and in a circle to represent us as a family and as a reference to the Carter family, 'Will The Circle, Be Unbroken'. The circle of picks is another family musical reference. And the eternity sign is done in white flowers, mimicking the pick shape, in a reference to 'where have all the flowers gone?'. Lastly, both Pete and my father passed away in 2014, which is when it was completed.
