Artwork Description:

The Emperor is a tribal leader, an innovator and compassionate rule-maker, a guide to his people. He is showing them a reindeer-ivory atlatl or spear-thrower to make hunting more effective. I have copied an actual atlatl from one carved 17,000 years ago, excavated in the last century in Europe. As symbols of his status he wears feathers of the Imperial Eagle, a crown of oak leaves, amber in his ears, and rams' horns, as he is an Aries, and has fire behind him. A beneficent, powerful, just, leader. N. B. This Tarot deck is a work in progress.
