Artwork Description:

I grew up close to Maastricht (Holland), which derives its name from Mosae trajectum, a place to cross the river Maas. The bridge in this painting was build by the Romans and it is still there, now I take my children to walk over it. Maastricht is a beautiful old city which inspired me for many paintings. I have good memories. I love bridges, both physical and spiritual ones. It is one of the reasons why I was happy to come to New York. I also painted bridges in other cities I love, like Venice, Prague, Amsterdam, Paris,etc. A beautiful city is build at the banks of a river.
