A young Hmong bride on her wedding day with the busy colorful background representing the chaos all around her. She is captured here in a candid moment of contemplation in the shadow away from public eyes... perhaps she is deep in though about what the future will bring her. Arranged marriage is very common in small rural communities of Hmong. The groom s family have to pay the bride s family a certain numbers cow, water buffalos, land, and in some cases precious jewels. Once she is married, she will belongs to her husband s family and her family will no longer owned her.
