Artwork Description:

The Old Man of Storr, Isle of Skye 46 x 32 Lightjet print of Ilford B W paper ORIGINAL PRINT - Limited Edition of 20 Crafted Prints LightJet print on Kodak Metallic: Original photo print with metallic gloss The Storr Scottish Gaelic: An Stòr is a rocky hill on the Trotternish peninsula of the Isle of Skye in Scotland. The hill presents a steep rocky eastern face overlooking the Sound of Raasay, contrasting with gentler grassy slopes to the west. The Storr is prime example of the Trotternish landslip, the longest such feature in Great Britain. It is the type locality for the mineral gyrolite. The area in front of the cliffs of the Storr is known as the Sanctuary. This has a number of differently shaped rock pinnacles, the remnants of ancient landslips. In January 2012, production of the science-fiction film Prometheus moved to the Isle of Skye, with filming taking place at the Old Man of Storr. Geographically, Scotland was once part of the land mass of North America before superimposing on itself on what is currently referred to as the UK mainland. A 3 hour trek up this elevation provided the view of the old man and the land and seascape of the North coast of the Isle of Skye. I choose to create the artwork for its unique viewpoint and awesome beauty of Scotland. Each print is cut and dry mounted on white backboard prior to the mounting of a white front mount. This fine art print meets museum longevity requirements and is carefully hand crafted. Prior to dispatch the print is hand signed and individually numbered. A certificate of authenticity is supplied. Print Size | 46″ x 32 Mount Size | 54 x 40″ This title forms a collection which is limited to an edition of 20 prints, individually created by the artist in his Nottingham studio to ensure maximum quality and richness. This fine art print meets museum longevity requirements and has a unique extra smooth surface with a sensual feel. The distinctive appearance of Kodak Metallic premium paper will transform your photo into something quite unique the photochemical emulsion favours white tones with a metallic shimmer, and it ensures rich, luminous colours with intense black tones. The lights of nighttime cityscapes glimmer with a metallic effect and contrast-rich images appear more spatial. The colours remain brilliant – even after 100 years. The Océ LightJet laser exposure system produces the finest details with ultra-sharp contours, in the size of your choice - up to three metres The optional white border gives your image a classic look, while our range of frames, passe-partouts, and laminations turn your photo into an object befitting a gallery. The photo paper: Kodak Metallic with an elegant metallic gloss The high gloss surface and metallic look of the Kodak Metallic paper 235 g m² produce photos with extraordinary optical depth and strength of expression. The special laminate gives white and metallic objects a glossy effect and augments their luminosity. Shots with strong contrasts benefit from the depth effect that is created through vibrant whites and strong, imposing black tones. Professionals use this silver halide paper for urban shots in particular. Colour photos also benefit from the broad colour spectrum, which gives them added intensity. It is not only the unique appearance of Kodak Metallic that s impressive – its durability of over 100 years makes it an absolute must-have for photographers, gallery owners, and collectors.
