Artwork Description:   This etching was inspired by an antique albumen print done between 1865 and 1886. I executed several drawings of this photo, which I found during my research into The A. D. White Architectural Photograph Collection, Cornell University, Rare Print and Manuscript Collections in their library. The university accession Number is 1553090.01427. I hand transferred my drawing onto a zinc plate via a squared scale method. Seven separate acid baths were required in conjunction with the studio techniques of INTAGLIO, AQUATINT, and DRY POINT. My blend of black, oil based etching inks from Paris gives the work a depth befitting its design. I printed on RivesBFK white paper for this FIRST Edition, limited to only five etchings. The print featured here is Print 4 of 5, Edition Two. The SECOND Edition was printed using black paper and silverwhite-tinted inks. Editions 3 to 6 remain unprinted as of this posting in June 2014. I intend to add Chine colle to the remaining editions to be printed and published in 2018 to 2020. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in matt selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Dot Com price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, and the coast of the shipment box. Mailing costs are added. KEYWORDS FOR SEARCH include Amiens Cathedral, France, Religious Art, Towers, Balconies, Gargoyles, Chimeras, Grotesques, Imaginary and Mythological creatures, Dogs, Animals, Sculpture, Harps, Musical instruments, Kings, and Crowns. The image is 12 inches high by 16 inches wide, or 30.480cm x 40.640cm. The print measures 18 inches high by 22 inches wide, or 45.085cm x 55.880cm.
