TRINITY MEDITATION is an etching that combines my imaginary visions with photographic scenes from actual places. The background tower in this print is actually from a 1988 photograph I shot at The Cloisters in New York City. The three monks are taken from a page in my sketchbooks. This etching uses the techniques of intaglio, aquatint, and Chine colle, a method that adds color to the work by applying mulberry bark onto the RivesBFK white etching paper. This occurs during the printing process and uses the organic substance methylcellulose. The oil based ink used, a blende of Charbonnel brand blacks from France, lends a gothic feel to the work. The print size is 15 inches high by 12 inches wide, or 31.8 cm x 30.5 cm. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in mat selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Dot Com price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, and the cost of the shipment box. Mailing costs are added to the price.
