Artwork Description:

This is the 3rd best print of six in the second edition. The etching was inspired by a still from Leni Rienfenstahl’s film, Triumph of the Will. A six inch high by nine inch wide zinc plate, or 15.240cm x 22.860, was used. Silver metallic, oil based ink was used on Stonehenge black paper, which measured 11 inches high by 15 inches wide, or 27.940cm x 38. The techniques employed were INTAGLIO, AQUATINT, and CHINE COLLE. A Thai mulberry bark paper was used in the Chine colle overlay. Keywords include swastika, Germany, cinema, blood red sky, World War II, Leni Riefenstahl, fanaticism, fascism, Triumph of the Will, propaganda, Brownshirts, and hate. Please note that this etching is shipped to the buyer without a frame or mat. This keeps the price reasonable and also allows the collector a wide range of choice in framing selection. For shipment, a sturdy cardboard box is employed. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping box and securely packed with bubble wrap. The price does not include any shipment costs.
