Artwork Description:

Dream Of Africa is one of a series of landscapes inspired by my dreams. The inscrutable workings of the subconscious provide a wealth of imagery for my work. In this series I choose dreams that have inexplicable meanings; the ambivalent nature of the imagery allows the viewer to form their own interpretation. In Dream of Africa there is both a sense of peace and danger and I am interested in how this conflict of emotions resonates with different viewers. Some collectors of my work tell me that their interpretation changes over time the longer they own the piece.
