Artwork Description:
There is something of the dawn and a certain natural sensuality, bordering on the erotic, inherent in the playing of the cello, in both the physical act and its somber tonality.
A bronze casting of this piece has recently been chosen by the Oslo Symphony Orchestra to be used as a trophy to the winner of their annual grant. For this purpose, it is no longer available in this size, so it stands as a model for a larger version. It makes an appropriate monument to a performing art center, music hall or conservatory.
