Artwork Description:   Fractured Gello 5 is a continuation of the Fractured ‘Gello series referencing the underlying traditional needlepoint embroidery and quilting pattern, called Bargello. The Bargello name originates from the Bargello Palace 1255 , now an art museum, in Florence, Italy where chairs were discovered with a “flame stitch” embroidery pattern. The fracturing is no longer happening in an orderly fashion, but becoming an undulating line. The black lines are hand applied using handmade bias tape. Dense hand stitching in three distinct patterns flowing from the center outward, enhance the piece and give it visual and physical texture resulting in interesting shadowing effects in various lighting conditions. This textile artwork is designed to be displayed in either a vertical or horizontal orientation. Available Exclusively through Blink Art Resource, Cincinnati, Ohio
