I never tire of painting dancers and cats as they are close to my heart. This painting is inspired by the Indian actress, the beautiful Rekha who played Umrao Jaan a courtesan of Lucknow in the movie of the same name. I dedicate this painting to Umrao Jaan and the score of women like her, lives wasted to work against their will. Size: 8.25 x 11.25 approximately. Watercolors on handmade paper.
