This illustration was devised as part of a series of greeting cards. My symbol series consist of a character iconic with the particular holiday and a traditional symbol relating to the character and holiday residing in the background.
The snowman with his top hat, scarf, and carrot nose is a winter wonder associated with Christmas. The traditional evergreen coniferous with a skirt as a Christmas tree is the most appropriate symbol for this card as the snowman is built outside in the snow and the tree comes from outside as part of nature (unless you buy a plastic one ;p).
