  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Israel Tsvaygenbaum - I believe that art is as necessary as the air we breathe; it is what makes us human. As an artist, my role is to help people fulfill this need. My medium is oil on canvas. I like the roughness, the vibrancy of oil. Through oil, I can best express myself. I love the process of painting. When I'm painting, I don't think about the finished product or the viewer; I just focus on being true to the process. Before I ever touch the canvas, or begin to sketch, I let the images swirl around in my mind. Then, I begin a series of sketches to translate my thoughts into more concrete images. As the images take shape on the canvas, they begin to change. Sometimes, I myself am surprised at the outcome. What kind of painting do I do? I don't like labels; I prefer to be free to interpret my ideas as they come to me. Some of the themes that have figured in my paintings are my personal past, Jewish history, Biblical themes and nature. A number of my paintings are set in Derbent, a city in the south of Russia where I spent ...

Scott Maki - Greetings Everyone, I'm a and a visionary artist that finds inspiration in every element of this amazing existance, from the smallest grain of sand to the vastness of the Cosmos, from the oceans blue to the mountains tall there is immaculate beauty within it all. A finite balance holds this world together and it is this balance that I find truly remarkable. Through my art I express my vision of this world and worlds to come , a celebration of color and light. Celebrate life for we all walk on common ground. As we Coexist amidst Infinity The Eternal Origin that bound, us all together, to share the Time Space Continuum of the Eternal Now. . The Song of Life is still Singing. The Universe is Dancing .Balance,Lifes Chance .The Sacred Circle still exists in the hearts of the True. ...

John Searles - John Searles is a metal artist & sculptor with work in more than 2000 collections across the country, including hotels, businesses and homes. His experience includes working with aluminum, copper, bronze, steel and stainless steel. His body of work includes sculptures, metal weavings, metal art tiles, wall sculptures, photography, paintings and websites. The metal wall sculptures of John Searles reflect his enduring interests in mathematical patterns, design, movement, energy and freedom and are an expression of his on-going dialogue with the metals he works with - aluminum, steel, stainless steel, copper and bronze. John Searles' background in poetry, painting and photography has heavily influenced his focus on shape and design. At times his artwork appears to depict the fluid movements of a Kung Fu master, or the flight patterns of a bird catching insects in the summer evening air. Other times, the metal represents dancers intertwined. John Searles lives and works in a converted 5600 square foot factory on three acres of land near Lake Michigan. The front third of the building is a light-filled gallery. The back part is a tool- and work table-filled space with two garage doors and a view out over the property to the ...

Nicole Collie - Life is full of Color!!! Those red hot moments when passion is all around you, you can taste what life has to offer. When your heart pounds for the next moment. This is where I am in life. I am finally coming into my own, really learning about myself. Loving myself has been a new and exciting experience, and because of all of this my art has been evolving. Born and raised in the Bahamas I have been blessed with all the colors of the world. We are a colorful country and ever more colorful are our people. We have two different sides to our culture. First we are very religious, there is a church on every street corner, and we protest against everything sinful, everything on the surface is pretty and perfect. Secondly we are a culture with skeletons in our closets, our closets are plentiful and very full. And it leaves me in a very peculiar place because I paint nudes. I paint woman for the most part. I think women are incredible creatures. We have such big shoes to fill from being a mother, lover, caregiver, housekeeper, wife, friend and still have to work our 40 plus ...

Matthew Hickey - Matthew Hickey is a 38 year old artist originally from Levittown, New York. He graduated with honors from the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan in 1995. Sammi Martin - My art is very versatile due to the variety of clients worldwide! This has always been a challenge, as I enjoy exploring art in its many dimensions. My art covers a wide variety of styles and materials such as art deco, geometrics and abstracts - representational to whimsical, decorative paintings, and reliefs on wood or canvas, screens or murals. My extensive client list has allowed me to explore many venues such as hospitality, corporate, commercial and residential. Enjoy the website, and be sure to visit our Los Angeles Gallery! ...

Christa Skoff Oglan - The muse, the madonna and the goddess captured in an endless dream is a recurrent theme of the figurative paintings. I strive to provide a feeling of mystery and opulence that act as points of departure into personal inward journeys for the viewer. ...

Nini Larranaga - I'm Nini and lets talk about art... I can't remember when was the first time art jumped inside me. Maybe when I was still in my mother's womb. All of my sences are related to art. I breath art, that is the air that maintains me alive. I really think that art is inside of every single being, you only have to be perseptive just to know it exists in everything. You can make it happen, just like magic. I always have drawn and paint, but life gave me the stone I stepped through to realize that there were other artists and that I had to study. I did enjoy reading their lives at first, and then study them. The more I knew, the more I feel that I really don't know enough. So... Study, study, study. Never ends. Life to me is a whole study in every way. Trial and error. The thing is to stand up again and doing it better trying to improve yourself. My painting is most of all authobiographical. That is what everyone who knows me say. I have to thank so many people that in one way or the other ...

Dune Tencer - I have been told that I need to find a style, a theme, or a signature look to my art. Well I have. I love painting the landscapes of America's Southwest and my home state of Texas. I love painting the texture, color and size. Now that being said I find painting abstract and inks very freeing, relaxing and the inks are just down right fun. On occasion the canvas has a mind of its own and a painting just wants out. A good example of this can be found in the Geisha. My daughter challenged me to paint a really big painting. I had a roll of canvas, 8 feet long and 4 feet wide. Overwhelmed by the size I threw on some black paint and some red paint, spread it around. I then hung it from the ceiling of the studio and stepped back. There she was all I had to do was the finishing embellishment and 45 minutes later there stood the "GEISHA". This is not the sort of thing that happens often but what fun when it does. I hope you enjoy seeing my art as much as I do making it. Thank you. ...
