Artists Describing Their Art:

Isaac Brown - ISAAC S. BROWN As his day job Isaac is president and CEO of Baltic Street AEH Inc. A non-for profit agency that helps people coping with mental health issues deal with advocacy, employment and housing based in New York city. Mr. Brown has been painting for over 35 years. This self-taught artist has been previously employed in a variety of jobs including lumberjack, diamond cutter, welder and sergeant in the Israeli Defense Forces. It was during his time in the IDF as a young sergeant during periods of down time that he first picked up a brush and paints to begin to express his artistic creativity. Later in between maneuvers, during his time in the first Lebanese War, he began experimenting with whatever materials were available to a young soldier, creating sculptures and roadside art along the way from one camp to another as a release from the daily pressures and responsibly of caring for his fellow soldiers. After leaving the army he traveled the world extensively continuing painting and sculpting along the way. He spent a considerable time amount living in Europe and thus bringing to his art a unique worldwide perspective. His artwork reflects the passion...

Kristin Garrow - Dream..Imagine..Inspire..Heal These words are a daily must in the life of my creations. Suffering from several disorders including Bipolar and Fibromyalgia I am constantly changing my routine to accommodate my own Art Therapy. What does this mean for you Who doesnaEURtmt like a little variety in their lives Through my works I am able to create many forms of art and utilize multiple mediums. I offer you the chance to have a piece of my world join yours in hopes it brings you as much joy as it did for me while creating. I am always trying something new and exploring my mind to give you a piece that reaches you on many levels. My work is an examination of the different paths life takes, and the ways we work through our everyday lives always searching for something. I hope to provide you with whatever you are searching for. To have that one work that truly speaks to you or simply makes you smile. ...

Kristin Garrow - Azhar Shemdin - I am interested in experimenting with liquid acrylic, using resist material which is anything that is placed on the surface of the painting that impedes the flow of liquid paint. When the resist is lifted, an unexpected outcome is revealed. Sometimes the outcome is not what I wanted, and I cover the surface with paint and go for a second, third or even a fourth try, until I am completely satisfied with the outcome. The end result is a wonderous world that comes from somewhere and is revealed on a canvas surface!...

Michael Schaffer - Exploring the realms of color, texture, drama, and feelings are the main ingredients of my art work. To inspire the viewer to deal with the issues presented to him is my goal. To inspire the viewer to interpret and react is my passion. I hope you have been inspired... or at least have an opinion. Art and life have many of the same ingredients for us to enjoy....

Dave Martsolf - Dave Martsolf Dave Martsolf was born in 1949 in Kansas, moved to Western Pennsylvania in early childhood and at age 12 moved to New Hampshire where he resides today. MartsolfaEURtms father and grandfather were architects and his mother a professional photographer. Martsolf attended MIT and later UNH where he earned a degree in Fine Arts. His early work was influenced by the great masters and others such as the post-impressionists Miro, Matisse, Kandinsky, Klee, Picasso, and the surrealist Salvador Dali. Architectural instincts developed due to his close association with architecture in his youth. DaveaEURtms focus has been in visual arts his entire life. His style extends from realism to surrealistic to fantasy and abstraction. His work uses the mediums of oils, watercolors, inks and pencils, to the more technically-oriented media of computer-based art. Beginning in the late 80aEURtms Martsolf spent productive time with the tools of Bryce, Poser, KaiaEURtms Power Tools, and similar photo editing and photo manipulation products. He was creator, owner and artistic director of Damsel Software Group in the 1990aEUR2s as a producer and manufacturer of original content screen savers. Today, Dave has returned to handmade art. He continues ...

Themis Koutras - MY JOB IN GOD THE TRINITY JEHOVAH CREATOR OF LIFE IS TO CREATE THINGS AS A ARTIST AND PLACE SCRIPTURE ON THEM TO RELATE IT TO THAT ITEM MY IDEA IS TO REACH OUT TO THE WORLD IN EVANGELIST REASONS TO GIVE OUT SOMETHING WITH A MESSAGE ON IT THAT RELATES TO THE WORK DONE AND FROM THE GOSPEL ALTHOUGH I MIGHT MAKE THINGS WITHOUT SCRIPTURE LIKE TOYS FOR CHILDREN TO HAVE FUN IN LIFE I WOULD THEN PRAY THAT GOD WILL TAKE A HOLD OF WHAT I DO AND LEAD ALL PEOPLE TO HIS SON HOLY THAT THEY BE SAVED SO ON FOR I RECON WE ALL NEED JESUS CHRIST...

Adib Fattal - I believe that before anything art should bring happiness to the viewer . Life has alot of misery in it , so it is the artist duty to make people happy . Secondly , I believe that an artist must have his own unique style which I feel should differentiate him totally from another artist . In my view , I would even say a particular style is more important than what and how an artist paints . His style has to be so strong that the viewer should immedietly recognize the artist ....

Adib Fattal - Pamela Henry - Who is to say what art is or is not? I am a spirit that captures emotions and place them on a canvas. My emotions seem to create my art and I hope that you will feel something special when you view it. It doesn't matter what you feel, just as long as it can leave you with a thought. I have been an artist since I was 5 years old. That was sometimes the only way I could get any special attention. As an adult, I use my art to say what I feel without the limitations of words. I love it when someone tells me that my art made them feel something and that is why they had to buy it, or that my art caused them to think. My job is done when I can make you feel and think. ...

Juan Garaizabal - "There are living pasts and dead pasts. Some pasts are the liveliest instigators of the present and the best springboards into the future " Le Corbusier, When the Cathedrals Were White. Memorias Urbanas. My Urban Memories are large format artistic installations that recreate the spirit of vanished constructions, architectural elements that in their day had great value. Beauty is an absolute value, but when it comes time to reconstruct a familiar absence to pay homage to the fallen edifice, I search for other positive values, for the heroic element in its story. This esthetic and ethical work contributes decisively to satisfy these portraits of the soul, those in which integrity occupies a preferred place. Integrity, the capacity to "stand behind an ideal" 1 , is applicable to buildings as well as people. The hero is known for his deeds, for what he creates and contributes, for the positive net balance of his consumption. This essence can be located in individuals. If there is no ego, there is no awareness; there is nothing. The first knot to unravel in this process is the identification of my conviction and individual vision as an author of the soul to be rescued from a project that...
