Artists Describing Their Art:
Nora Meyer - I paint what I feel, what I imagine, what I'm reminded of, what I see and live. Some times I take a classic and rethink it. Some times my drawings are of every day items and the appreciation of their souls and their quiet drama. I find beauty in the patterns of shadows, the light and the darkness, the forms created amongst another. ...

Carol Donahue - Kalathil - I studied Computer Graphics, and Fine Art at Tompkins Cortland Community College 2000, then transfered to the State University of New York at Cortland College to study Fine Arts 2002. While attending Cortland College I concentrated on a new medium, ceramics. For the first time in my life I discovered the wonderful tactile world of clay. Most of my hand built projects were envisioned in my mind's eye, and then communicated through my hands. The clay spoke to me, each time I put my hand into the clay, the creative forces with in me took over. I am an Illustrator, and paint in watercolor, acrylics, and oil. I also am involved in Computer Graphics and design with my partner, who is a web designer. I enjoy creating and feel that art is the true way to communicate emotions and the driving force of life it self. 2006-2007 currently studying at The Armory Art Center West Palm Beach Florida. Involved in Hand Sculpted Ceramics, and Painting the Figure. Sincerely, Carol Donahue-Kalathil ...
Jaanika Peerna - I look for the universal beneath the particular and for the particular above the universal. I draw on a sheet of paper placed on floor - I move around the paper and then mark down the lines and dots capturing the very moment at hand. No pre-made plans in my head. When drawing a line or dot my whole effort and attention is there at the tip of the pencil. By listening to the momentary sound the pencil makes on the surface, every drawing is the most truthful memory of the time taken up by the making of the drawing. There is no beginning or end, no top or bottom, no reference to the scale of it all. In the viewers' eyes, ears and mind, the continuous movement of lines and dots on the surface offers many kinds of silence. In my video work I point my video camera towards carefully chosen ordinary phenomena and record long takes without moving the camera in the hope that something essential about the subject matter reveals itself. I study the footage closely by slowing it way down and at times reversing it. I try looking at it upside down or sideways, all this ...
Johan Gaellman - I change material and subject now and then. Sculptural works including photography and labyrinthic ideas was my main interest for some time, as well as painting, printmaking and installations. Since 2008 I concentrate on drawing, creating slightly weird portraits, playing with patterns, shapes and lines. /Johan Gaellman ...
Bert Menco - Though they may seem simple, especially my drawings and intaglio prints but also my paintings are actually quite elaborate; half a year's work on an image is no exception for me. I draw directly or use small sketches, even doodles, as image-generating nuclei, often combining two or three that appear to complement each other. I rarely use concrete references, but rather work from inner visions. I tend to be narrative in my own art, perhaps poetic narrative. I don't see my images as telling a story but rather as reflections of inner feelings, similar to some poetry, and would like observers to read them as such. I like to believe that my work carries a certain mystery. My images are very much "inside out.aEUR? I have usually some idea of what I want to obtain, but much of the image is generated while I draw or paint. The end product always surprises me; I am often amazed that there even is an end product. Analyzing my own art is difficult but I think that the dreamlike images tend to deal with confined spaces which contain certain characters that reach out to one another but do not quite ...
