Artwork Description:
This is one of the most photographed scenes in Colorado. Although the men who built this mill were probably more concerned with future riches, their structure inadvertently became sculpture, in a natural garden. Because this area is hard to improve upon, an artist is inclined to interpretation and possibilities. Eventually what was built will disappear. But what if the mill was made out of petrified wood? Everyone can see shapes and figures in rock formations. By raising the water level of the Crystal River and exaggerating the form of the rock below, I Found a swimming elephant.
This area has been called Crystal Mill, Ghost Mill, and crystal Ghost Mill. This piece is available in Open Series prints from publisher and can be handsigned by artist for an additional handling fee.
