  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Frank Driscoll - Dreams are an untapped powerful source to figuring out your life. Your mind works in ways you would not even imagine. Many of my works are dream inspired and contain quite a bit of symbolism. My objective is to simulate the sort of thought process one has when dreaming. Th symbolic aspects of my works are meant to portray a much larger idea or beleive in much the same way symbols do in dreams. The content of my work is both surreal and realistic often incorperating retro/vintage patterns, items, and images. My vibant color palate includes all colors of the rainbow, however they are presented in the tints and hues that most reflect their psycological effects on humans. Diffrant colors are affiliated with diffrent feelings. Dreams are a fusion of feelings, symbols, idea, images, and memorys, essentialy what I try to make of every painting I do. ...

Dana Zivanovits - Dana Zivanovits was born in 1958 in Columbus, Ohio and received his art training from the Columbus College of Art and Design (1978 to 1982). After art school, he went abroad for a year and studied the art of the old masters in London, Paris, Madrid, Rome and Venice. Returning to his studio in Columbus to develop these influences into a new body of work, he then traveled to Mexico and studied the sculpture and painting of that country for an extended period. The unique and vivid colors of Palenque and Vera Cruz intensified his palette. After a period in Ohio, he then moved to Venice Beach, California where the brilliant light of the region reinforced his desire to capture effects of sunlight and atmosphere. Returning to Ohio in 1995, he has continued to paint themes deriving inspiration form sources such as world mythology, classic and B-grade cinema, literature and dreams. However his primary inspiration is direct observation from nature, versus an approach based in art theories or cultural critique. Dana has been widely represented by galleries and exhibition projects including Julie Rico and Mega Boom in Los Angeles, the Venice Art Detour, Around the Coyote Festival in Chicago ...

Anna Possinger - um, please do not buy my artwork from this site, i have no means of shipping at the moment. But i will in due time. instead please link to my website page because it is easier for my costomers and myself. thank you. my statement i guess would have to be, kill your television and learn to love childrens books. If you can't kill your television, at least cut your cable or sattleite and buy the entire box set of the worlds greastest films. you will have inspiration beyond your wildest dreams. or stop being lazy and go for a walk. =)...

Patrice Tullai - A graduate from the University of Washington Patrice received a B.F.A. in Painting, a B.F.A. in Sculpture, and a B.A.in Arts. Since that time Patrice has been painting relentlessly. She is also a recording artist having worked on A&M records. She has several recordings available. You can hear her music at www.cdbaby.com/cd/frownland and www.cdbaby.com/cd/alicedean. Her influences are many but a few of her favorites are Andy Warhol and Vincent VanGogh. "I enjoy pop art and the comedy of art. Art can be fun and funny. For that reason I paint contemporary objects. I also paint traditional plein air landscapes." She has a great love of birds and has been painting them for years. Many subjects are endangered birds. Did you know there are more endangered species on the Hawaiian Islands then anywhere else on the plant at this time? ...

Boban Dosic - My work is inspired by archaeology, both thematically and technically. It is about both building and uncovering layers, using acrylics, plaster, sand, cement and wax, as well as found or constructed elements made of metal and wood. Through this process of constructing and deconstructing the story hidden in the layers is gradually revealed....

Boban Dosic - Grace Auyeung - Landscape painting is my artistic gravity, and I mainly use Chinese ink, colour and Xuan paper as media. I like to explore various techniques and styles, but I place strong emphasis on the use of lines to express my feelings and thoughts about the landscape I try to recreate. I see my art as a vision of my inner self and my spiritual self as well....

Koroleva-Prisyazhnaya Anastasia - We are all creators of our own soul. The basic style of my creativity i consider a "romantic" style. In this style those works are made, which are devoted to The Man and The Woman, to their relations : Their Love, Their Passion, Their Pain, Their Hatred ("She broke ", "When Love Goes ", "A Flower of Love" ). However, it is interesting for me to work with texture graphics- the main value of which is the complex, worked in details decor of a picture.("Fish", "A Forest Woman", "The Charming Courtesan"). The great respect i give to a principle of stylization, the idea should work especially creatively its frameworks ("Karabas-Barabas", "Duremar"). I began to learn the Art of Graphics being trained in architecture (1995-1998) and since then from a subject taught within the frameworks of the program of studing, it has turned to a subject of my passion which i cultivated from hobby to a business of my Life. Nevertheless, except graphics, i`m a professional make-up artist, it is my second profession. Working as a make-up artist i like to invent and to create too. Ussually, creative photoshootings and art-sessions are the result of this. By photoshootings ...

Chad A. Carino - A quality which defines the life of any urban artist is the visible entropy surrounding us in the form of decay and despoilation of the desolation defining post-industrial urban America. Simply put, we live in darkness. This quality bends and controls me, defining my work, decaying into darkness and chaos. A solid idea will find itself dissolving into a series of dark scribbles, and a simple concept will belie its ultimate complexity. These images find themselves hovering between unconsiousness and depression; ultimately, cold, dark, and dead, like any planet or person....

Sir Mbonu Christopher Emerem - I conceive life and living in the context of our relationships with the sacred realm. Hence, my artworks and creative efforts place man at the center of function. With the combinations of Western and African motifs my arts are made to rouse the conscience of mankind, reclaim the human race, and restore humanity and the dignity of man. For my Paintings, I use acrylic, oil, watercolor, pencil and mixed media in the execution of my works. For my Digital Arts, I use computer and scanning technology and for my Sculptures, I use cement and fiber. I saturate my works with stunning and imposing sacrosanct by borrowing and using connotative images to show hidden force using themes that emphasize my sufferings as a struggling artist. For me carrying on the old conventions is not enough. Although I take them into account, I also seek inspiration from the life around me in order to make the traditions serve modern times. As life reveals to me its fresh meanings, I find it difficult not to reflect on them. All in all, I am either stimulated by my personal experiences of life or by environmental, touching, mind-purifying and life-consoling experiences to which...

Tamara Sorkin - I have always worked from organic subjects- plants, animals, or the human body, but usually I arrive at an abstract, "zoomorphic" description, that enables me a wider perspective. ...
