To me, this piece represents the fact that the recent wave of political acts against the trans- and non-binary community have been nothing more than a superficial Culture War being used to divide and distract Americans from the genuine threats we face every day that are not being handled, such as the ever-increasing dangers of climate change and how our country plays a dangerously large part in it. This becomes abundantly clear when you realize that the laws being put into place are disguising themselves as a necessity to protect children- but as one of the only genuine sources with a voice to say so, I am using this piece to tell you that none of these laws are saving any lives, they are only putting all of our lives at larger risk.
