Artwork Description:   This painting was created in 2003 as a part of the series of 10 paintings when I decided to refresh all my skills and techniques with different styles. For Windy City I used some unusual techniques. I have combined to some degree my architectural talents and my Artist talents in one painting. For the background I used watercolor style - technique. It is really effective as you can see. Even more I have used plenty of impressionism here, so this is really a combination of rendering and oil / watercolor style. I have yet to see any other artist out there using anything remotely like this. It is in a new trend, or style or whatever you want to call it. I hope one day it will go into the books as Mikhail Onanov technique. For now you still can get it into you home collection at the prices that are not nearly close to the Sothebys or Christie's prices. I'm not so young so please hurry. :-) There are really three paintings out of ten that kind of go together. Please check out My City and Your City paintings as well. I dedicated them to the City of Chicago, I far as I concern the most beautiful city on earth. In some focal points the oil paint is as much as 1/2 inches above the surface of the canvas. The painting is so unique, it plays with the background, if you hang it on the white wall it looks different, then if you hang it on the green, yellow, blue or any other color wall (like any other painting does), but this one looks great with all the background, since it has almost all the colors in it, and it fits them all. Wow! This is one of my favorite paintings; it really reflects my emotions and mood. I create being just about 10 inches away from the canvas, and when I create I use a lot of high quality paint, so in some points the paint is about 1,5-2 inches from the canvas. To really appreciate it, and see that I see just move away from your computer and look at it at about 3 -4 feet, see it now?... That is it; this is what it looks like in real life... This Art is created using Oil on Canvas. And it comes rolled in tube or stretched.
