Artwork Description:
This is my first piece in a series using modern symbols to create fine art. The title "Round 2" has a significance. All of the little spools of paper I used to create this piece were "leftovers" from previous pieces I've created. I never dispose of extra spools - always keeping them just in case I might want them for some reason. After collecting "extras" from quite a few completed pieces, I had a whole lot of little spools lying around. So, I decided it would be fun (and eco-friendly) to use those little guys to create a whole new piece. And so - round two for these leftovers. "Round 2" is comprised of hundreds of rolls of paper which I've hand-painted (all the paper started out white), rolled into spools, and tied with black thread. The background is a bright yellow piece of handmade paper, and the colored spools are between 1/4" and 5/8" in depth.
