I am an artist originally from a small town in Michigan, where I started painting oil paintings while preparing for my retirement. I took online classes, found a wonderful art group in Grand Rapids, Michigan, exhibited my original paintings and sold my first oil painting.
After retirement I moved to Florida. I started painting right away. The birds and trees that were all new to me. It was wonderful. I soon found more art classes and 3 art groups to join. Soon I had my original oil paintings in almost every gallery and local small businesses I could find that would show art for me and my groups
Now I have moved to Frederick MD. A wonderful area of friendly people and lots of art happenings I am setting up my newest little studio to paint more and enjoy the joy of painting
I try to communicate my love of nature to help others see and appreciate the natural environment around them.
My goal is to give others a calming and imaginative experience in their homes when they contemplate my oil paintings.
I enjoy the creative composing of my landscapes using my store of images and my imagination. I combine my sketchbook images and photos to form my imaginary landscape.
I then feel excited and fulfilled when my work goes well.
Even as a child my happiest times were when I was creating art or attending art activities and museums.
I am a member of NOAPS and have been chosen for one of their national online art exhibits.
I have had solo exhibits in Grand Rapids MI, Dunedin FL, Oldsmar FL and Tarpon Springs FL. I have shown oil paintings in group exhibits in Clearwater FL, Crystal Beach FL, Tarpon Springs FL, Oldsmar FL, Dunedin FL, Sarasota FL, Safety Harbor FL, Tampa FL Art Museum, Miami FL, Kutztown PA, Grand Rapids MI, Jay NY, Plattsburgh NY, Keesville NY, Chicago IL, the New York Art Expo of 2007, the Art Expo Las Vegas in 2007, Art Prize for two years in Grand Rapids MI and the online NOAPS exhibit 2021
