Artwork Description:

Title is, HOW IT ALL ENDS IN BLACK AND SILVER. This etching is printed on STONEHENGE BLACK printmaking paper with a unique mix of Charbonnel, oil based printing inks. I employed the techniques of INTAGLIO, AQUATINT AND DRYPOINT. The image is inspired by an albumen print created between 1865 to 1886, artist unknown. The original photo is from the White Architectural Photographs Collection, Cornell University Library. My print is executed on two individual zinc plates placed on the press simultaneously to produce one image. The singular plates measure 5 inches high by 7 inches wide, making the etched image 5 inches high by 14 inches wide. The paper size measures about 10 inches high by 18 inches wide and, the frame size is approximately eleven-inches high by twenty-inches wide. The work was hand printed and published by the artist at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in mat selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Dot Com price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, and the coast of the shipment box. Mailing costs are added.
