Artwork Description:
This edition of original etchings was based upon a Fresco by Fra Angelico entitled The Annunciation, executed between 1442 and 1443 at the Convent of San Marco in Florence. The zinc plate I used measured six inches high by nine inches wide, or 15.240cm by 22.860cm. The print measures eleven inches high by 15 fifteen inches wide, or 27.940cm x 38.100cm. Oil-based etching ink was used, and printing done on Stonehenge black paper. Please note that this etching is shipped to the buyer without a frame or mat. This keeps the price reasonable and also allows the collector a wide range of choice in framing selection. For shipment, a sturdy cardboard box is employed. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping box and securely packed with bubble wrap. The price does not include any shipment costs.
