Artwork Description:

Montsegur and the Tower of Magdalene, is the full title of this etching. This scene from the South of France highlights the mystery and magic of Montsegur, especially under a full moon. I adapted this from a photograph I took in 19878 while hiking around the Cathar country. Etching techniques include intaglio, aquatint, and drypoint. Limited edition of only fifteen. Approximate paper size is twenty-two inches high by fifteen inches wide. approximate image size is 14 inches, 35.5 cm, high by 11 inches, 28 cm, wide. I hand printed and published this edition at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector with a frame and mat. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. Price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, and the coast of the shipment box. Mailing costs are added. The Church of Montsegur conceals numerous secrets and unsplved mysteries, some that pertain to the treasure of the Knights Templar and The Holy Grail. Many believe The Holy Grail to be a pregnant Mary Magdalene herself, and not the wooden chalice that Christ drank from at The Last Supper. My family contains many names that relete to this including, Santa Clara, St. Claire, and Clovis X.
