This etching is based upon a 1987 photograph taken by the artist. It depicts a 13th century window from a Romanesque Templar church, San Bartolome’s Hermitage. It is located in the Parque Natural del Cañon del río Lobos, Soria, Spain. The pentagram, which is a five pointed star, has extensive use in Religious Art. Five is the total number of Hebrew books that Christians adopted from the Torah, which establishes all Jewish teaching. The symbol was also sacred to the Knights Templar. The zinc etching plate measured four inches high by five inches wide, or 10.160cm by 12.700cm. The framed print size 9 inches high by 12 inches wide. The etching is executed in French, oil base inks on Stonehenge fawn colored paper. This work, printed by the artist at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is from the SECOND EDITION OF FIVE EDITIONS. Each edition is limited to FIVE etchings. THIS WORK IS SOLD WITH BOTH A FRAME AND MAT. It is shipped to the collector in a cardboard carton.
