Artists Describing Their Art:
Matei Enric - My art is a combination between easel and wall painting. More pieces which are assembled together, creating a full image, a piece of work. Space, as usual, circumscribes the work, the wall ( the vital space around the picture ) is inserted in the piece of work, becoming in this way an element ( having plastic valences) of the composition. The piece of work, in whose substance is also integrated the wall where it is placed, remindes of the wall painting , having a better comunication with the environment unbeing isolated from it by a frame or a closed shape ( square, rectangle etc). The base of my painting consists of the plastic rhythm ( the whole composition relying on the arrangement of similar elements) and the use of different ways of the elements materialization ( brush-up ) ....

Derek Dey - Many times I am asked where ideas come from. There's never been any difficulty with that, because they arose one by one in almost linear fashion. The full idea for a painting would emerge in my mind as a complete mental picture somewhere towards the end of the painting I was working on before. From this, I would jot down a clear thumbnail image and pretty much work from that alone. Looking back on it, it seems to me the subconscious was prompting this process in an effort to build wholeness out of chaos within me. Almost like the process of art itself. I am in Europe painting writing and working up some 3D stuff. Caio! ...
Susan Baquie - My art work varies in style as it is the result of experience and observation, as well as formal studies. From a type of surrealism to expressionism, sometimes more realistic and at others abstract in conception, many of my pictures reveal a psychological awareness, at times a depiction of trauma, and at others, the joys of colour, pattern, design and the flow of paint or ink across canvas or paper. Painting is like life itself, a constant mirroring of energy, a dynamic pouring of the soul onto two dimensions. It can be caring or selfish, it can be political, humanistic and even cruel. It is a way of life and as with poets and writers, often a happy work and often hard. It is wonderful to be able to show work on the Internet in this way. ...
L Gonzalez - I draw whenever the urge hits me. When moments of quiet descend upon me, I find a bit of digital fingerpainting eases any mood. My current artistic endeavors are digitally oriented. I find that digital media makes the creation process for an artist that much easier. I started with traditional media but found myself draw in by the ease of digital art. I use a number of software to create my works. Most of the works on this site were created with "Expression" by Creature house. It's a versatile illustration program. I also use Bryce 4 for 3D rendering, Adobe Photoshop (I have 6.0) and Painter Classic. The latter is a very nice software that allows you to fake oil painting, watercolor and other traditional media. It's very handy for practicing at traditional arts w/o the messy clean up and hassles. I've also begun using Terragen for 3D scenery. If not for the game Myst, I probably never would have attempted digital art. It was my interest in the creation of the game Myst that peaked my interest in digital art. With the help of friends and acquaintances online who were also intrigued with digital ...

Aurora Mazzoldi - Like every artist I let inspiration grow in me, so I can transmit through my paintings the images, emerging from my subconscious mind as an inexhaustible source of experiences, stories and paths. Carole Wilson - The inspiration for my images comes from meditation, dreams, and hypnogogic imagery; creating a healing, helpful presence wherever the art is placed is my goal. To that end, my intention is to create art that is visually stimulating, both overtly and on a subtle energetic level. As colors and shapes affect mood in powerful ways, I seek to evoke a joyful, uplifting response in the viewer. There is an underlying pure and positive force that can be expressed through the visual medium of painting, that is at once mysterious and yet accessible to human consciousness. Channeling this energy through paint and canvas is the purpose behind my work....
July Preobrazhencki - My style fully reflects me as a person - it is a tense disharmony, in many ways it is about blurring and fuzziness, about chaos. I use materials that capture a unique moment this is instaX after all, what can be more fragile than a photo the size of a credit card, this is printing on transparent paper and then transferring it to something, this is processing the image with salt and acids, this is transferring the image to scotch tape, giving a psychedelic structure with the help of ebru paints, this is tracing paper - like displaying the strings of the soul and breaking glass. I also do aEURoeghost imagesaEUR with the help of a clerical corrector and cyanotype, followed by computer processing....

Rene Trujillo - Un Creyo (Spiritus MercuriU.S.) I'm giving back to the Universe what the Uni-VERSE gave to me. Participacion Mystique I'm letting go of what is. Being. Of what is to become. L' Avenir. Letting go of what I AM up to now which in turning echoes what is. (H)echo. Letting go, for there is no need to take. Everything has been given to you. Every-thing and no-thing is in front of you. Gnosis. Therefore, let go of what you possess. Deseo. For when one lets go, one receives. What does one gain by worrying of the day. Oh anxious eye! One must learn to breathe again. The first breath was born from a serene one. (Circular Time) The second from an earnest one. (Linear Time) Unos Mundos. Death to all anxious objects! I'm in the world now. I'm out of the wor(l)d now. "The Uroboros" Between and including Consciousness and Unconsciousness there is becoming. There is connectedness. Mysterium Coniunctionis. There is balance. It is a prime mover. It is creation. We are the re-sounding fact of creativeness. (H)echo returns! It is sufficient unto itself. That is all! -Rene'...
