  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Mikhala Culberth - As an all medium artist, I want to invoke deep emotions within my audience and those who view my works. My work is a reflection of what I am feeling in that moment with intention of relaying such to those who see it. What I create is pulled from within myself not simply to recreate what has already been done because that is not who I am but to give humanity a little piece of magic it can carry anywhere. ...

Elham Moaidnia - As an artist I find my passion lays within seeking new inspiration, and constantly creating unique artwork. A strong work ethic is a joy for me, as it reminds us all that persistent effort is required to build something for the future. Rising above political issues, my goal is to visualize the world around meaEUR" telling its story through my painting. During my process I remind myself to be free, look for the magic in the world, and let the colors flow onto the canvas. I have a multitasking mind and am often inspired by calligraphy during a painting session. Rather than a burden, I find this conundrum fascinating and am constantly amused by my ability to supersede the boundaries of the medium. I enjoy capturing a visual record of different generations, continuously as I encounter them. I turn them into conversations with my artwork and emphasize the effect of tradition. Leveraging imagination and exaggerating reality to create a theatrical scene with my painting brings me joy. Crafting audience provoking thoughts with figures of happiness and grief are the key elements of my work. I view my technique as a modified style of traditional and narrative art....

Jorg Becker - Jorg Becker is a Photo Artist practiced art-photography in classic style without camera image processing and without digital manipulation. He paints with the light and colors of nature. Critical themes, sensual, scenes of life and nature are the subject of his photographs....

Brikena Berdo - I cannot say what really led me to painting. I guess it is related to that inner desire which has made me express myself in this visual language. But what has mostly marked my art and driven me towards endless research is composed of notions such as the sense of time, childhood, human psychology and nature. I think, for some artists, it is true that what they have sought for in their art is something they have missed during their own life, a lack of anything from the real world of ours. I grew up in a aEURoegrey countryaEUR. I lived under a dictatorial regime until the 90aEURtms, which was followed by a transit period of destruction. Hence, so little has been inherited by the previous system. As a result what I perceived of those times came in colourlessly, greyish and meaninglessly in all aspects. It did not make sense at all. The absence of colours led to a hungriness and craving for greens and blues and yellows etc. This thirst for colours found expression later greatly and strongly in my paintings. I love colours and they are important, sometimes more than shape. I like to impose myself through ...

Hampton Olfus Jr - Art for me is a journey, of a life force expressing it's self through the human experience. Each artist has a vision or personal statement for their artistic journey. My artistic vision, is to be as true,to those who love art, as I I'm to my artistic self. I attempt to transfer the energy of discovery, from the studio to the exhibit space. And I also would like to make the gallery owners happy without the art work becoming, predictable. Too acquire the artistic wisdom of the masters, and remain as fearless as a child, with a box of crayons staring at a blank wall. ...

Beata Szechy - Beata Szechy set up shop in both Texas and in Hungary, programming across borders, languages and cultures, as a sort of dual citizenship for artistsaEURtm communities. Managing a double identity in the US and abroad reflects Beatas commitment to celebrating and understanding both the intersections and divergences between cultures, through the art, artists, and local communities. Beata was conceived as an international meeting place for artists and intellectuals, fostering a lively transatlantic exchange in literature, the visual arts, performance and multimedia. While most of the arts programmingaEUR"including the residencyaEUR"takes place in Budapest, Hungary, at the Dallas location continues to serve as the administrative hub, and host to exhibitions, film screenings, and offers a variety of other programming, in addition to the residency. She is a cultural missionary beside her art. ...
