Erik Brede - Producing a link between the landscapeaEURtms reality and that imagined by its conceiver is what BredeaEURtms artwork focuses on. Influenced by renowned artist like Ansel Adams and Rene Magritte, Brede creates surreal and fine digital artwork . Brede follows a conceptual approach thus utilizing a wide scale of subjects in a multi-layered manner. His work focuses on concrete questions that determine our existence. Erik Brede is a photographer and Photoshop artist, born in 1971 in Svolvaer, Lofoten Islands, Norway. His photography journey started at the age of 11 when his father introduced him to the great magic of film development and post-production in his low budget darkroom. Even if the old analog darkroom is replaced by Photoshop and Lightroom, his vision and craetive ideas are the same. With a conceptual approach, Brede tries to approach a wide scale of subjects in a multi-layered way to produce a link between the landscapeaEURtms reality and that imagined by its conceiver. Miguel Balbas - aEURoeThe artist brings something into the world that didnt exist before, and he does it without destroying something else. John Updike. These artworks have never been seen before. The generic patient is victim of the excesses and exploitations of FarmNazi, a multinational pharmaceutical company whose ineffective solutions yield fat profits at the expense of the indescribable suffering of the patients that endure them. FarmNazi is a fictitious company, but its workings do not differ much from those of real multinational pharmaceutical companies, whose cancer-fighting products, in this case, are absolutely ineffective and cost exorbitant amounts. Patients are thus the guinea pigs of these abuses. Schemes, threats, pressure, blackmail, etc., are the order of the day, and the multinational companies are the ones to do and undo them as they please, depending on if their pharmaceutical remedies will bring them more or less profit. There are uncountable stories of drugs that have been recalled from the market because they are actually effective and, therefore, no longer of interest, because if they cure patients quickly, thereaEURtms no more business or drugs that are recalled because they are cheaper than another companyaEURtms, for example, a foreign companyaEURtms. Hampton Olfus Jr - Art for me is a journey, of a life force expressing it's self through the human experience. Each artist has a vision or personal statement for their artistic journey. My artistic vision, is to be as true,to those who love art, as I I'm to my artistic self. I attempt to transfer the energy of discovery, from the studio to the exhibit space. And I also would like to make the gallery owners happy without the art work becoming, predictable. Too acquire the artistic wisdom of the masters, and remain as fearless as a child, with a box of crayons staring at a blank wall. ...

Jim Lively - Whether portrayed in the abstract, realism, or somewhere in between, I am most influenced by both the beautiful and unattractive components of contemporary urban culture. Many times, one painting will reflect both components. My art tends to focus upon interesting juxtapositions of close-up images of human faces. Often, the larger images border upon realism and are caught expressing a panoply of emotions usually directed at the other images that share the canvas. Several of my recent works such as the tongue in cheek entitled "Lenin and Things" contain unlikely combinations of images such as a statue of Lenin which is dwarfed by a billboard size fashion model displaying a vacuous stare. A number of works contain both large images and interrelated small images. For example in the painting "Staring at Natalie", all the smaller images are a depiction of a collective group of voyeurs staring at a larger image of a posed fashion model. I want those viewing the painting to be the ultimate voyeur. The viewer is not only drawn initially to the larger image in its own right but also cannot help but then notice the relationship of the smaller images to the large image. Works displayed ...

Brian Devon - Born in Dublin, Ireland, my journey in image making began when I was around eight years old. I must have expressed an interest in photography because Santa Claus placed a beginneraEURtms photo chemistry kit under our Christmas tree. My parents had a old fashioned brass bed with heavy blankets that reached the ground. It was under there that I set up my aEURoealchemists caveaEUR and began a life long experiment in image making. For me there is a need to express something more than the perfect likeness that the camera captures, a wish for the a bit of me to be felt in the work. I began trying to enhance my images using various techniques, including applying colour tints from the kits that, in those days, came with Kodak black and white processing. I worked in several studios in Dublin, Ireland and London, and San Francisco and travelled extensively in Montana, Alaska, The Northwest Territories and the Yukon, during which time Ive had the priceless opportunity to work with some great professionals. Ive had access to state of the art studios in which to further my experiments with color, textures, tints and to explore printing techniques both traditional and ...

Arup Lodh - Recreate the Magic of Enjoying Kolkata - a word woven with mystery. A city with as many unique interpretations as its people. It always remained at the center of our curiosities and discussions. There is one more Kolkata which is being passed over to us through stories and tales from our grandparents aEUR"the yesteryearaEURtms Kolkata. A city, where one could take a tram ride with mere 2 paisa. A raise of one paisa in fare would put the city roads on fire and bring life to a standstill. This very characteristic also gave the city a unique distinction of being the city of revolutionprotest. I Arup Lodh, am a budding artist of todayaEURtms Kolkata. Like many of you, I have also learnt about the yesteryearaEURtms Kolkata through those enchanting endless stories and tales from my family, through books, through journals and write ups from that era. However, a lot has changed from what the city used to be to what it is now. Definitely, one of the notable changes is aEUR" it is no longer the crowned capital of India.
