Artists Describing Their Art:
Eduardo Diaz - Statement My name is Eduardo DIaz and Iim a Mexican artist residing in the Bay Area since 2001. In my work I express different elements of Mexican culture, while emphasizing its Native American heritage. I incorporate native themes and images, both extant and prehispanic, into my works and combine them with personal feelings, experiences or fears. Although cultural elements are the essence of my art, through them I also like to express political and social opinions. As a Mexican, I feel in touch with the problems at the Mexican-American border, as well as with the issues facing Mexican immigrants. I also like to express the tension between the indigenous and the industrialized worlds, and to analyze the different elements that make up Mexican identity, especially when confronted with life in a different country. My favorite medium is oil painting. I use vivid and deep colors, with which I reflect the light of the Mexican sun. Some of my compositions are figurative, and oscillate between realistic scenes and more elaborated images, with affinity to surrealism. My most recent productions are less figurative and combine the same vivid colors into expressive abstract constructions. Biography My name is Eduardo D...

At this time of my life journey I have the desire to take my passion to a more professional level. Every art and every style inspires me. I love how the vibrant colors talk to each other and want to experiment with different styles of art. I am also a big nature lover and most of my art is trying to capture the beauty of it. Vasco Kirov - For me painting is a way to convey to others what my inner reality looks like. I guess, that is what most artists are trying to do. This is why my paintings are mostly abstract. I access this inner reality with my eyes closed in quiet and relaxed state or in lucid dreams, which I am blessed to have from time to time. In this personal reality light and colour form structures with astonishing size and grandeur generating emotions and strong desire to share the experience. Sharing however is not easy. It is like to listen to the most amazing music and then try to talk about it. I am not sure that I will ever be able to express these experiences in full, but every painting brings me a bit closer....
Leslie Abraham - I celebrate life in painting, finding joy in my continuous development. I discovered myself in painting and learned to use my hand as a tool in each moment that I cant put into words. Through my painting, I make known to others my innermost feelings. I build my own universe in my mind, putting everything I care for in my canvas. Each day I always look forward to painting something new, something beautiful in everything I see, the emotions that come with it. My goal is to inspire others who see my work, to give them the same warm feeling that I feel every time I hold my paintbrushes. ...

Evon Johnson - I am a Jamaican born United States Artist. I have been drawing since I was a child with my main medium being crayons fond memories of getting lost in drawing and coloring everything from comics to portraits of Jesus. Bottom line I create art because it is something I love to do. I also love showing what I have created with others. I especially love the expression on peoples face while they are pondering the aesthetics of what they are looking at. Some of the artists that had an influence on my work were artists such as Andy Warhol, Henri Matisse, and Roy Lichtenstein. I also have an interest in photography, creating 3D Graphics and writing poetry. While I have a preference... more like a bias towards acrylic paints, I occasionally experiment with mixed media. My photography is never cropped or enhance with any software. They are always as the camera sees them at the time. I feel like whenever I get the perfect picture it is a special moment in time and should be presented as is. I hope the viewers enjoy my work as much as I enjoyed creating them. ...
Herman Van Bon - Keep investing in your childlike imagination is one of Hermans many quotes. He once traveled around the world as a technical photojournalist, nowadays he has been enjoying the beautiful, untouched nature in South Africa for almost 18 years now. Herman finds inspiration in the same nature. The perfect photo in the early morning is just the beginning of his creative journey I like to explore the possibilities and limits of digital art, I just let it flow to see where it can go, sometimes the end result appears quickly, sometimes the creative process takes months and other times the creation dies in its own beauty.
