  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Themis Koutras - MY JOB IN GOD THE TRINITY JEHOVAH CREATOR OF LIFE IS TO CREATE THINGS AS A ARTIST AND PLACE SCRIPTURE ON THEM TO RELATE IT TO THAT ITEM MY IDEA IS TO REACH OUT TO THE WORLD IN EVANGELIST REASONS TO GIVE OUT SOMETHING WITH A MESSAGE ON IT THAT RELATES TO THE WORK DONE AND FROM THE GOSPEL ALTHOUGH I MIGHT MAKE THINGS WITHOUT SCRIPTURE LIKE TOYS FOR CHILDREN TO HAVE FUN IN LIFE I WOULD THEN PRAY THAT GOD WILL TAKE A HOLD OF WHAT I DO AND LEAD ALL PEOPLE TO HIS SON HOLY THAT THEY BE SAVED SO ON FOR I RECON WE ALL NEED JESUS CHRIST...

Richard Montemurro - The artist is self taught and began his artistic journey with abstract oil painting. He later became interested in photography and has since integrated the use of the computer in his creative artistic endeavors. He uses his digital cameras and his digital paintings of abstracts in his creations, combining them, when appropriate, to create unusual works of art. His desire is to create images that are unique and interesting to look at. They are seldom created to make statements about the human condition or to express displeasure with society. The artist feels that there is room in life to create images for the sake of creating them as individual expressions of one's imagination....

Stephen Mead - In the early 1990's Stephen Mead's poems began appearing in such journals as Onionhead, Bellowing Ark, and Invert, but upon moving to Provincetown, Mass., Stephen decided to concentrate more on visual work. It was in the year 2000, after moving back to NY, that Stephen started seeking publication again for both his writing and his art combined. Since, then, thanks to the wonders of the World Wide Web, his work has appeared internationally both in cyberspace, hard copy, and physical Gallery Space. Often the writing has appeared along side his paintings, and at other times with the text superimposed. In 2004 Stephen began experimenting even more with these poetry/art hybrids creating a series of e books, including the award winning "We Are More Than Our Wounds". From there Stephen began experimenting with his art and poems as films, at first creating slideshows with captions, and then doing his own soundtracks and voice overdubs. These DVDs are available through Indieflix.com In 2006 Stephen put this technology to use releasing a CD of poems set to music "Safe & Other Love Poems" (CDBaby.com), as well as two print editions of his image/art hybrids, "Selected Works" and "Tree ...

Stephen Mead - Rickie Dickerson - I work from the core, I smear my guts on the canvas, all the pain and confusion...joy, lust and anger...right before your very eyes. I have to paint, I have no choice. My mentor, Luise "Mignon" Andersen, introduced me to acrylic paint and threw me deeper into the river of creativity. Everything I do is just to keep me from drowning... As for the photography, that's compulsive as well....

Nancy Bechtol - Artists explore and give the world a view of their personal heightened awareness. I visualize and think with keen beliefs and insights. Reflection of human and societal concerns which cross emotional boundaries-- communicating that which is unspoken. My traditional art foundations of drawing, painting and printmaking, evolved into video, digital photography and experimental media. I use digital photography and imaging to envision the concepts originating from the creative pulse. An individual artist explores and gives the world a view of their personal heightened awareness. Luise Andersen - Luise'Mignon' Andersen Luise'Mignon' Andersen has only recently begun to reveal her lifes work. Soon after her debut she exploded onto the mainstream art world. Her breathtaking pieces have captured international interest. The stories Luise'Mignon' is telling through her truly deep, layered works seem to decipher the past and foretell the future, perhaps sharing her window to other dimensions and a seventh sense. Her detailed acrylic'Mignon' series speaks to the beholder. They inspire raw emotion and ignite ones imagination. The indescribable nature of the "Duree De Ma Vie" in particular has a growing portion of the art community considering it the conception of an entirely new style. C. A. Hoffman - For me, my artwork is very personal. It reflects a lot about how I am feeling at any given time and place. I feel that art has to be on this personal level to completely capture how the artist is feeling daily, or trying to convey a certain thought or emotion at that particular moment. We all, at one time or another try to express our thoughts or ideas, whether it is to others or just to ourselves, by words, actions, ideas or pictures. If we are sucessful in this attempt, I think it shows through in our everyday work or art. I believe that one is either born to create art naturally or by learning. For me, I feel that I was born with this wonderful gift, and I try to improve upon it every day. In my photos and art, I hope to show how everyday objects and nature can capture our imaginations and feelings. Sometimes I work with an image to improve it, inhance it, or just to fuel the imagination. I truly hope this shows in all of my art. ...

Sir Mbonu Christopher Emerem - I conceive life and living in the context of our relationships with the sacred realm. Hence, my artworks and creative efforts place man at the center of function. With the combinations of Western and African motifs my arts are made to rouse the conscience of mankind, reclaim the human race, and restore humanity and the dignity of man. For my Paintings, I use acrylic, oil, watercolor, pencil and mixed media in the execution of my works. For my Digital Arts, I use computer and scanning technology and for my Sculptures, I use cement and fiber. I saturate my works with stunning and imposing sacrosanct by borrowing and using connotative images to show hidden force using themes that emphasize my sufferings as a struggling artist. For me carrying on the old conventions is not enough. Although I take them into account, I also seek inspiration from the life around me in order to make the traditions serve modern times. As life reveals to me its fresh meanings, I find it difficult not to reflect on them. All in all, I am either stimulated by my personal experiences of life or by environmental, touching, mind-purifying and life-consoling experiences to which...
