  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Patti Meador - I first became interested in digital photo manipulation about a year and a half ago with the onset of a disability allowing me time, and a need to express myself creatively. My interest in digital photography was born with the gift of my first digital camera (Olympus C4000) for Christmas 2002. My'hobby' has since escalated to a full fledged passion! The opportunities for artistic expression available with digital imaging (cameras and software) are endless, and with God's grace my intention is to explore them all til my dying breath! I live with my husband of 30+ years, and 3 dogs (2 Boston Terriers and Boxer) in a small village in Ohio (US). I do hope that all who view my work take a small portion of the inspiration that I felt in it's creation away with them. More of my work can be seen on my various web sites, and prints, apparel and various gift items available via my Zazzle and Printfection shops, as well as select works on Art.com and Allposters. Please feel free to click on the links at the bottom of this page for more examples of my work, including before/after examples ...

Elio Pastore - Elio Stefano PASTORE was born in Turin (Italy), where he lives and works. He has got a degree in Law, and works in the communication field for a big public company acquiring a twenty-year experience in that sector. He started using PC in 1998 for creative necessities relating to his job, discovering little by little its fascinating power and making it a trustful and indispensable tool. Fond of photography, travels and mountains, he has often put together these interests, getting numerous awards in photography contests and publishing his picture stories on different magazines. His artistic life - started in 1992 - has found in the digital art his ideal medium of expression; infact the digital art allows him to draw inspiration from the objectivity but to filter it through his personal life, so transforming it in an ideal and essential reality, spread through an emotionally intimate atmosphere. From this synergy between a personal sensibility and a technical mastery, were born pictorial imagines devoid of modern references and contaminations, creating a world with no time suspended between magic realism and poetry. Starting from the year 2000, from the original production, he has led in a parallel way, a personal research on forms ...

Jolie Bonnette - A statement... well.... I don't do this for you or anyone. I do this for me. I create because, if I don't, I will shrivel up and die. This is what I live and breathe for. Do I care if you like what I make? No. I don't. If you like it, that's fine. If you don't, that's equally fine. People do buy these strange things I make. That makes me happy, but it's not the core reason for doing it. I'm not looking to be famous. I'm too much of a loner geek for that. I just want to make art and put it out there where people who like it can buy it. ...

Melissa Lambert - Investigation and Experimentation My art, whether abstract, figurative, or combinations of both, explores dimensional vibrations through the use of line, color, symbolism, and form. Geometry, particle physics, holonomic brain theory, mythology, and Jung's theories of synchronicity and the collective unconscious all inform my work. Perceiving the concepts contained in the above theories, I strive to reveal the deeper dimensions and innate spirituality that exist in the here and now of every moment....

Rodolfo Chavarriaga - Rodolfo Chavarriaga Biographical Sketch Rodolfo Chavarriaga was born in Bogota, Colombia, S.A. in 1951 He lived in Bogota until the age of six, moved to Paris for a period of one year, and then returned to Bogota. Influenced by his grandfather, an impresario and filmmaker, as a young man Chavarriaga showed an interest in sculpture, film, dance, theatre and music. His surrounding changed again a year after returning to Bogota when his family moved to Medellin, Colombia. Returning to Bogota one year later, he attended several different schools between the ages of 8 and 13. Was later enrolled at the boarding school Colegio Sugamuxi in Sogamoso, Boyaca. Chavarriaga's world changed once again the summer of 1966. Fourteen at the time, his whole family migrated to Miami, Florida. Chavarriaga recognized his love for art early on. With an aptitude for the manual and visual arts, he started to realize his calling and inclination during his youth. He began to display talent in this area while living in Paris as a child. He focused on and had the opportunity to develop his skills in the plastic arts during his schooling in Colombia, enrolling in and excelling at coursework in the ...

Barry Scharf - My professional career began in 1973 when I earned my MFA. In my early works I felt my paintings where an illusion and only seemed to partially fulfill my desire for a more complete expression. Now my works explore the interplay of transitional reality and abstract concepts in oil on canvas and digital photography. It is provocative to me to express myself through physical, intellectual, and spiritual endeavors . My art offers me the forum for this expression. The viscosity of paint gives scale, while it's liquid flow carries the emotions of a poetic heart. The formation of shapes into composition express a thoughtful logic and the unity of all elements breaths life into the spirit of the work. In addition explored shapes and content fits with my digital images. Pursuit of excellence in design, craftsmanship and expression are my artistic goals. To create images that provoke thought and communicate our connection with nature, spirit, self and each other. ...
