Artists Describing Their Art:

Hampton Olfus Jr - Art for me is a journey, of a life force expressing it's self through the human experience. Each artist has a vision or personal statement for their artistic journey. My artistic vision, is to be as true,to those who love art, as I I'm to my artistic self. I attempt to transfer the energy of discovery, from the studio to the exhibit space. And I also would like to make the gallery owners happy without the art work becoming, predictable. Too acquire the artistic wisdom of the masters, and remain as fearless as a child, with a box of crayons staring at a blank wall. ...

Dave Martsolf - Dave Martsolf I have a hand-drawing personal style that I love, but also use photorealistic collage style for some surreal work. In addition, I continue to enjoy explorations in every direction. My surreal visionary style is conceived in the bowels of endless empty space. Worlds come out of nowhere to define and fill empty space with form and reflected light. I use posed photographs with specific viewpoints that join seamlessly with other images to develop a hallucinogenic, some say gut-wrenching realistic space where mind-bending visions rule. My personal drawing style is in its simplest essence the line the drawn line and what it represented as the delineation of a form, a space, almost the way a topographical line feels out the form of a hill, or the way a blind man feels out the tender forms of his or her lover. That line is also the signature of the vibration of life and lifes emotions, twisted by the influence of others, fighting for a day in the sun, learning the way of calm, the mastery of the surf of life and the swell of love and anger. Brownian motion, cosmic ray decay, elemental particles, the paths of ...

Luise Andersen - Luise'Mignon' Andersen Luise'Mignon' Andersen has only recently begun to reveal her lifes work. Soon after her debut she exploded onto the mainstream art world. Her breathtaking pieces have captured international interest. The stories Luise'Mignon' is telling through her truly deep, layered works seem to decipher the past and foretell the future, perhaps sharing her window to other dimensions and a seventh sense. Her detailed acrylic'Mignon' series speaks to the beholder. They inspire raw emotion and ignite ones imagination. The indescribable nature of the "Duree De Ma Vie" in particular has a growing portion of the art community considering it the conception of an entirely new style. Rhoda Taylor - Every day I work in my studio and every day I look forward to creating artwork. Painting is my passion.... I wouldn't know what to do without it. The studio that I work in is situated on the grounds of our house in beautiful Southern Ireland, surrounding me are the mountains with their soft mists, the rolling hills and ancient coastline, it all fills me with happiness and inspiration, I can gaze from my window at the amazing views, the Atlantic ocean, fields, cattle, birds and trees, this truly is a mystical and magical place. Over the years I have worked with various mediums, glass painting, silk screen, oils, pen and ink, gouache and watercolour, but my ultimate choice is my pen and ink work which I truly adore, I know I can put into the paintings a tremendous amount of detail that would be almost impossible using another medium. I am fortunate to of had a lot of my work purchased and exhibited worldwide, England, Ireland, France, Germany, Malta, Hong Kong, Vienna, Japan, and America, with works including Portraiture, Design and Illustration, not to mention the countless private commission requests ranging from transforming memorable photographs into paintings for ...

John Douglas - John Douglas is an Australian multi-media artist whose painting exhibitions have received acclaim and caused controversy both in his home country and internationally. He began painting at the age of 8, and studied at the Queensland College of Art until his expulsion in 1984 for being a "disruptive and disturbing influence", after which his career really took off. His photography encompasses a broad spectrum of styles and themes, including publications in Thailand, Denmark, Sweden, United Arab Emirates, China, Qatar, Australia and Japan. John Douglas currently has his short film "Painting Air" in a solo web exhibit for The Istanbul Museum of Contemporary Art. ...

David Evans - My artistic driving force is my continued obsession with four motifs - people, bicycles, buildings and landscape. I sometimes interpret these singly or coalesced within one work. The underlining inspiration for a good deal of my work comes from re-working and distorting quite traditional themes from art, literature, poetry and music. I like to jump the margins between illustration and fine art. Sifting recently through my work, observations, ideas and responses, I think itaEURtms fair to say that I see life, art and my surroundings in a somewhat quirky and whimsical visual wayaEUR| David Evans - Macclesfield Cheshire ...
