Tom Lund-Lack is a self-taught painter whose work uses the power of imagination to seek out the core elements of the subjects he paints. His work is grounded in the need to celebrate life, and to express our sense of existence through the recognition of the transforming power of colour and light.
Arrangements of shape, line, pattern and colour conjure up powerful expressions, sometimes dreamlike and at peace sometimes exciting and dramatic. The pieces do not always represent an actual moment in time, but are rather the result of a process of reflection, recollection and reinvention, a distillation of his experiences.
This year 2017 I exhibited at the Suffolk County Show a major agricultural show art exhibition in May and sold two pastel horse racing drawings, Energy 11 and Energy 13 and then was delighted to have 3 pieces selected for the Society of Equestrian Artists Summer SEA Open Exhibition. This was held in July at Palace House, Newmarket the home of British horse racing where I sold another two pastel drawings Energy 12 and Energy 14. For me this was great news as the Society represents some of the finest equestrian artists in the UK.
