  • Artists Describing Their Art:

James Johnson - The basis of my work is the exploration of universal patterns of being common to everyone such as shadow, hero, or trickster. My interest in patterns of being is a fascination that we all share common behaviors or emotions that can be understood singularly. Each pattern of being may be expressed as a figurative sculpture of hand cast aluminum alloy at half-life scale. Patterns of being may be referenced with Jungian archetypes. My hope is to make patterns of being more visible and tangible. Deject Selected as Best in show at the 2021 Piccolo Spoleto Art Exhibition ...

James Johnson - Geo Kat - Always the QUESTION.What is ART. Maybe THERAPY. Maybe DREAMING. Maybe...casting the PAST. Or better... the FUTURE. Or just to be... PRESENT. I dont know exactly. But I knowat least, which is my inspiration, all the old mastering, the great NATURE. Humanity. Personas very different in space and time, like Praxiteles or Botticelli or Candinsky. .......... Of course we, humans, we are nature, part of nature, part of natures mystery...... May be my well effort as an artist is to explore this MYSTERIOUS and fantastic world, and create an art that is not exist yet, as an INVENTION...............or you can say exists, but is not expressed into EXISTENCE yet. And this art exists as a living person FULL of dreams of colours of happiness, GOOD will and HEALING matter. ___I suppose also that my inspiration is whatever still lives UNDERNEATH this ancient old city, Athens...... What ARE YOU thinking ...

Austen Pinkerton - Austen Pinkerton If I turn my mind to it very quickly I can come up with several ideas for works AC/a,!A|paintings, drawings, or sculptures. Sometimes ideas come to me when I least expect it, or when my mind is on other things. Ideas can be related to my current experiences, or to my feelings about things that are happening to me in my life at that particular time. Alternatively they can be related to a current interest, or something that occupies my attention at that moment, and my ideas and feelings about which Id like to share with others. A lot of my work is autobiographicalAC/a,!A|either directly or indirectly, consciously or subconsciously. It is frequently very personal, and expresses events or circumstances or experiences in my life. I usually work in either Acrylic on Canvas, Crayon or Pastel, or both together, with Gouache, on card, Drawing in pencil, or Ink, or both, or with creating SculptureAC/a,!A|for which I use fired artists clay. Sculpture follows a completely different set of rules and values from two-dimensional art, obviously, I think of it as Drawing in three dimensions and I take this into account when creating mine. In all my...

David Larkins - IA-A?A1/2ve always been intrigued by the luminosity and transparencies found in watercolor, Oil and acrylic mediums. I believe an artist must experience the painting A-A?A1/2 to absorb the surroundings, the atmosphere, to have a oneness with the subject matter before the first brush stroke is applied. My style is described as A-A?A1/2Abstract RealismA-A?A1/2 and my strength is found in the composition. IA-A?A1/2m drawn to diverse subject matter that challenges the viewer to see abstraction in the ordinary A-A?A1/2 to meld the A-A?A1/2realA-A?A1/2 world with the A-A?A1/2abstractA-A?A1/2. ...

David Larkins - Bob Dornberg - Art ELEMENTS include; relationships of objects, shapes, lines, spaces, colors, rhythm and balance. ELEMENTS are seen when observing any work. An artist should learn while observing, exploring and inventing. While subject matter is important, it should remain subservient to these ELEMENTS. MY WEBSITES:

Bob Dornberg - Steven Lamb - Ever since I remember myself as a person I dealt with my life by isolating myself and creating. For me the painting is not just a creative discipline, itaEURtms a vocation. To be able to deliver my visions and fantasies to the world, I trained myself in the Academy of Fine Arts in Leipzig, Germany. My perception of the world is always from a comical point of view. I have reached the conclusion for myself, that what matters the most ,is the human ability to laugh. I am using the grotesque as a tool of a social commentary, not to criticize , but to amuse and entertain. In most of my work I take inspiration from the beauty of the Montreal, its streets, buildings and people. Cafe scenes, clowns, magicians, singers, artists, families walking their dogs, coaches riding around are all funny, happy and exciting models for my work. The choice of the characters is influenced by my understanding of the world which I see through the eyes of a child. The people and animals in my paintings are always happy and ready to enjoy every little bit of their lives. Their appearances and clothing are not related to any ...
